Winter has arrived?

Well looks like winter has arrived a little early this year. After a cool wet spring, very short summer and a non existent fall, it started snowing yesterday morning. Woke up this morning to about 6 inches of snow, and more coming down. Still under a winter weather advisory for this afternoon, and looks like Bwana is under a Blizzard warning. After the summer we had, I'm afraid it's gonna be a long cold wet winter.

Funny thing is there are still a few tourists in town and you would have thought the world was coming to an end. Had enough snow & wind to cancel flights in/out of Cody airport today, and several of the roads in the area are also closed.

So how's the rest of our upper US CP members fairing with this storm?

WhitiE 10-05-2009 03:14 PM

yup ive arrived..... my middle name is winter... sorry to waste your time reading this....

Stewie 10-05-2009 03:17 PM

I'm fearing a bad winter here in KC. Nothing like you northerners, though. We only had about five days of temps above 90 this summer. That's unheard of in these parts.

rockymtnchief 10-05-2009 03:23 PM

Yup, been snowing since yesterday with high wind advisories. Not much has stuck in town, but 100' higher has a few inches.

Allow me to jump in with the obligatory "80 degrees and sunny here" post.

Somebody had to do it.

rockymtnchief 10-05-2009 05:01 PM

The Jeep and F-150 don't mind it. But the diesel F-350 sure moaned when I went to start it today.

It's 91 degrees outside my house right now. Just picked up my son from football practice. I've been hoping it would get cooler.

Winter is my favorite season by far.

Where are all the lame liberals now complaining about global warming? You ****ing tree huggers don't know shit!

DaFace 10-05-2009 05:39 PM

My dad and a friend headed to Billings this past weekend for a week-long fishing trip. Bad timing.

Gonzo 10-05-2009 05:40 PM

55 and big ol' fat rain for a while here. I'm doing the whole Antelope hunt this weekend and they're calling for a little snow in extreme north west Nebraska. Makes it easier to track and stalk but I would prefer nicer weather for sure. Not really ready for winter.

Farmers almanac is calling or a rough winter this year btw. Mother**** you old man winter.

I like winter (except the driving), but I'm still enjoying fall.... no need to rush into anything.

Iowanian 10-05-2009 08:13 PM

UNPOSSIBLE!

Obviously, you need to read up on global warming.

That f'n "scientist" that posts in the DC forum all the time should be here shortly to tell you that if it's hot it's due to global warming, or if it's cold it's due to global warming, either way proving the existence of global warming....

And I imagine if it stays moderate, well, that's due to the two global warming effects canceling each other out, once again proving the existence of man-made global warming...

Priest31kc 10-06-2009 12:21 AM

Fall is my favorite season by far, I enjoy the cold much more than the heat, and I get hot easily. I wish fall never ended.

Interim Chiefs Fan 10-06-2009 12:40 AM

I am coming out to KC with 8 buddies for the Dallas game. We do a football trip every year to a different stadium. Any suggestions for tailgating?

And most of them happened in June.

I will take anything winter dishes out as long as it does not include ice storms.
