Crabtree ends his holdout according to Schefter...

Just filed to ESPN - Early this am, San Francisco and its first-round pick Michael Crabtree reached agreement on a new contract.

Crabtree's contract is a six-year deal that could void into a five-year deal based on Crabtree's performance.

But deal is done and Crabtree's holdout is over. He is expected to report to the team's training facility today.

Quesadilla Joe 10-07-2009 03:56 AM

I would imagine he is already on most fantasy teams via the draft.

Keeper leagues my friend. I am in two and owners in both leagues actively selected him.

Mecca 10-07-2009 05:03 AM

His contract apparently says if he has 2 great years in the first 4 he voids his 5th year if he doesn't they get him for only 4 million dollars for that 5th year.

Braincase 10-07-2009 05:32 AM

Step 1: Show Crabtree the Mike Singletary career highlight film.

big nasty kcnut 10-07-2009 05:56 AM

Any truth to the rumor that Michael Crabtree was sacked by Mike Singletary. I could see mike calling him every day going You'll be my prison bitch soon. Night Night.

Bane 10-07-2009 06:04 AM

After the Jets acquired Edwards, he had to!

What an idiot. All he did was set his development back an entire season.

LaChapelle 10-07-2009 06:41 AM

The deal is to the ship!

I already jumped out and got Edwards this morning!

suds79 10-07-2009 07:09 AM

Okay I'm setting the over/under on Crabtrees yards receiving this year to 100.

What side you on?

Stinger 10-07-2009 07:14 AM

Must have been uncomfortable to sit and sign his name on the contract with his tail beteen his legs.

loochy 10-07-2009 07:16 AM

Apparently M.C. Hammer was somehow involved in Trabtree's contract negotiation.

I got him in the draft and promptly dropped him.

The Bad Guy 10-07-2009 07:52 AM

It's good to be a 49er fan.

3-1 and getting a boost to the offense in time for the playoff push?

Really emerging defense.

Good coach.

Mr. Flopnuts 10-07-2009 07:55 AM

LOL Any coincidence this deal gets done at the same time the Jets trade for Edwards? Aren't the Jets the team SF filed tampering charges against?

Buehler445 10-07-2009 08:01 AM

Good thing he's in before the start of the 2nd quarter of the season. I was really going to laugh hard if he went back into the draft.

Damn! Didn't he earn like $30 million in 93 and was broke by 94?

Yep. Singletary is doing a hell of a job in SF so far. Color me impressed.

Sure-Oz 10-07-2009 10:30 AM

I just cut eddie royal for him in my league which is really deep and the prized fantasy wr prospects in the FA list are kenny brit and crabtree, there isn't shit after that

Over.

Hell, he will probably have more yards receiving come sundown on Sunday night than our leading receiver for the year. Right now that is Bradley with 120.

Most likely it will take Crabtree 2 weeks to overtake Bradley, but given the way things have shook out for us this season, he will probably do it Sunday.

googlegoogle 10-07-2009 01:08 PM

He can't help this year. hope they factored that in.

My brother's been a 9ers fan since the Montana days, so I've always considered them to be one of my secondary teams. This year, I may end up rooting for them more than the Chiefs. :sulk:

Direckshun 10-07-2009 01:39 PM

Bust.

Chiefnj2 10-07-2009 01:43 PM

Let's not forget the great KC connection that San Fran has. Greg Manusky as DC and Jimmy no longer in disa-Raye as OC.

I NEVER thought i'd find myself rooting for Frisco, but Singletary has changed that.

He has that team wrapped around his little finger & its easy to understand why.

He's Old School to the bone & soul.
