Freaking Broncos
This game is going to make me puke. So far Denver had 3rd and 14 at the 47 and threw a pass tipped by about 3 Patriots before it was caught by Denver for a first down. That drive led to a Denver FG.
Ghost missed a 40 yarder. I wouldn't normally point this out, but he's just the best kicker in the NFL, kicking in freaking Denver, and he already hit one from 53. And Brady has two overthrows of Moss, one of which would have been a TD (tough pass though) and the other was an easy first down on a third down play (Randy was wide open) that would have put us in FG position. :Lin: We'll see what happens, but honestly. :Lin: |
I figured it would be close... I hate our kicker... the home kicker shouldn't miss a 48 yarder in Denver.
The defense is playing well for Denver and I like the production of the 'wild horses' formation. We'll see what happens. |
The Broncos are way better than I thought, but I still think they are playing way over their heads. We'll see...
|
That would be frustrating, but Gostkowski is not the best kicker in the NFL.
|
Does every team have to play like ass against Denver? **** football these days. At least Im not a k-state fan....but I am a UT hater:(
|
Running into the kicker cost the Donx field position and possession.

Pats get lucky. Denver forces a 3 and out deep in Pats territory, looking to get the ball back at the 50 or better. Running into the kicker! Pats first down.

You've been spoiled by Elam. 48 is tough even in Denver. |

All in all, it's been a rule since the dawn of time, and I really can't see getting rid of it. |

Big 3rd down here. |
Big stop by Denver. Nicely defenesd, I hate to admit. I hate that play call when it doesn't work, of course, but I've seen it work often enough to know I shouldn't complain.
Wait -- oh lordy. Denver penalty. Wow. Ok, maybe I should withdraw my luck complaints. Denver is imploding on this drive. |
Matt Light being hurt won't help any.
Pats are trying to run on them -- so far with limited success. Guess we'll see. |
Keep complaining. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

Brady had all year. No pass rush by Denver without a blitz.
|
ST's may have cost Denver twice... on an ability to take advantage of GREAT field position, those are comeback killing mistakes.

I agree that it does sometimes get called when it's the faintest of brushes. For good or for bad, though, the rule is clear. No touch. I'm wondering about all these roughing the passer calls. Brady got a pass off earlier today when he was nearly wrapped up by DJ Williams, and I wonder if Williams didn't ease up on how hard he could have hit him because he was worried about the penalty. That isn't how football should be played. |

It was running into the kicker, which is what happens. 5 yard penalty, but since it was 4th and 4 that made it a first down. |
So far... offensively and defensively, I think Denver has answered some of their critics. The offense hasn't put up a lot of points and that stinks, but they've been productive.
Let's see how they close it out... |

I know it helped your team, and I hate Denver, but that's a ****ing bullshit rule. |
Ok... nice job defense, time for the THIRD punt attempt.
|
Third third down stop for Denver. Gotta give their defense credit.
But now we're punting from teh 50 instead of our own ten, so the penalties definitely hurt them. |

Ok. A Patriot fan coming onto a Chief board whining about his own team is a little over the top when we're 0-5.:p
|
Regarding the penalty.. Ya see the NFL has done a study and defenseless kickers have a higher rate of reerunation and bankruptcy after their playing careers are over, therefore, we must protect them.

SAFETY TIME!!!!

That was clearly holding by Clady in the Endzone.
|
Another quick whistle.

Your goals are different. :D |

Go back and reread all my posts. Did I say that it wasn't called according to the rule? No. Did I say there shouldn't be a roughing the kicker? No. What I did say was that running into the kicker is a bullshit rule. I didn't say it was called incorrectly, I said it was a stupid ****ing rule. Look it up. ****. |

The pats got ****ed same as the chiefs with that forward progress bullshit.
|
Anybody see that play by Andre Johnson? Outstanding.
|
I like how the ruling on the field by the head ref was down by contact, but then after the flag it was down by forward progress being stopped. Nice that refs found a new way to cover their asses.

The Pats just got ****ed out of a fumble recovery by that BS "forward progress" rule. Hey if the FP is stopped blow the ****ing whistle
|

Sorry about that. |
Just to be clear, given how I started this thread -- if the Pats lose after getting TWO new chances with the ball, and then giving the ball back to Denver at their 1 yard line, then they have nobody to blame but themselves.

Meanwhile, I must admit Orton is better than I thought.

If that call stands, it's another horrible call.
|
WHAT? WTf is that flag about?
|
Urf. Not supposed to stand over a player and taunt. :cuss:
|
Refs love the Donkeys
|
What the hell?!?
|
That flag was bullshit.
|
Great. Well, Brady has plenty of time to be Brady, instead of Mr. Overthrowing His Target.
|
****.
|
Whoooooooo.... bit ticky tacky on the taunting call, but if it was roughing the kicker... that was taunting.
|
The NFL Cheats for the Broncos, this you cannot deny.
****ing Brandon Marshall. If the Donx have to score cant they at least go to Royal or Moreno so I can get points? |
Merriweather is a huge dumbass. You can't taunt over a person laying on the ground LOL.
|
92 and 98 yard TD drives for Denver. Patriots defense has played well this year, but they have certainly had some moments to forget in this game...
|
Lots of time... c'mon DEFENSE.
I really wish we had a different kicker. |

Jeesh. What a horse crap taunting call. Denver always seems to have the refs in their pocket at home. |

That screen call by Denver early in their last TD possession was a great playcall by McDaniels (or his OC).

Throwing a huge flag like that in a critical part of the game doesn't make the game better. It takes it out of the hands pf the player. I just fundamentally disagree with those calls. Especially late in the game. |
Jesus. Seattle steamrolls Jax, 41-0!
|
Third and four. HUGE third down here...

Great. Punt. WTF happened anyway. Welker was WIDE open.

Simms is right. He hits that throw right and it's 6.
|
CMON, Bench Brady. Put in Castle!
