Would KC have a win of Gailey wasn't fired?

Would the Chiefs have won the Cowboys or Raiders game if Chan was around calling shots and getting the most out of a horrible roster? Could a pistol like formation have beaten the Raiders?

ROFL

No...

ROFLROFL

No I don't so either....

Micjones 10-14-2009 10:10 AM

Hard to say. I think we could've been more productive offensively.
Enough to win? Not sure about that.

Mr. Laz 10-14-2009 10:10 AM

irrelevant since Haley wouldn't of allow Gailey to run the pistol etc anyway.

although i did think it was humorous that Haley has run LJ in that delayed draw several times this year ... which is pretty dam close to a pistol type play.

No. Gailey doesn't make passes. He doesn't run the ball. He doesn't make pre-snap reads. He doesn't block. He doesn't run routes, and he doesn't score touchdowns

the three teams that fired their OCs before the start of the season are a combined 1-14. but i guess it really doesnt mean anything

RustShack 10-14-2009 10:16 AM

The Chiefs would at least know an offense if he was still here, so the chances would be greater that we would have a win. It wouldn't be the same offense as it was last year, but the players would have a much better feel of the system. Completely changing it before the last pre-season game ****ed the offense over hard.

Brock 10-14-2009 10:20 AM

If they did go back to some kind of gimmick offense, to me it's the equivalent of treading water. This team needs to figure out how to swim in a pro style offense, even at the expense of losing games.

Great Expectations 10-14-2009 10:21 AM

When the Chiefs fired Gailey they had to implement new blocking schemes. Our O-line would still have been terrible, but a lot of Gailey's plays seemed to take into consideration how horrible our 0-line is more than Haley's do.

Keeping Gailey doesn't mean keeping a gimmik offense. We only switched to a gimmick offense last year because of Thigpen who is no longer here.

philfree 10-14-2009 10:28 AM

Didn't our look like crap in the preseason before Chan was put down? Yeah it did. No we wouldn't have won a game if we kept Chan at OC.

Then there's really no purpose in going back to Gailey.

Dave Lane 10-14-2009 10:31 AM

and if we had one win life would change how?

Is there a purpose on sticking with Haley if an OC is hired next year?

LaChapelle 10-14-2009 10:36 AM

Haley could not have kept his fingers out of the play calling. It could have been a Cable situation in reverse. In fact Gailey could have quit.

If the new offensive coordinator is going to continue with Haley's type of offense, then there's no point in Gailey calling the plays at this point. It's probably detrimental in fact.

But Haley is a reerun...haven't you heard...installing the new offense right before Week 1 was a terrible move!

Which Gailey offense are we talking about? The 08 early season or the spread?
