Latest Bill ORT - Jamon Meredith

or so sayeth the "today" tweets on CBS sportsline.

Jauron didn't say he will start, but he was taking reps there today. Always fun to see the second guessing become second "what he actually looks like on the field in a real NFL game."

What concerns me is that Jamon is actually smart. Every other player from South Carolina I know of has been outed for being really dumb on the Wonderlic test...

because if you want to find smart football players in the SEC, you can check out Vanderbilt and

um, just Vandy.

I sense a meltdown coming on.

DJ's left nut 10-14-2009 03:32 PM

Yeah, but he was too old to take a chance on....wait.

He was too expensive....crap.

He didn't play for Chicago, Arizona, Miami or NE and therefore he must suck. There we go!

This is exactly the kind of guy our hack-ass, coat-tail riding GM should've gone after instead of giving away draft picks...MFING DRAFT PICKS....for Ndukwe. But nope, since we evidently only have interest in picking up guys we're 'familiar with' nevermind the fact that they 'suck at playing football', Meredith never got a look.

Jesus tits this front office pisses me off.

In the end, Meredith could have been had the first week for nothing, just a waiver wire claim.

We'll see. Having watched him at South Carolina, and being really impressed with him as a Soph, I can't help but believe there is something "radioactive" about him that we don't see. He is just too talented an athlete for the NFL to do what it did to him. But then, the Bills have TO...

Is that Jamon's photo flashing by??

Certainly, if there are really no character/desire/work ethic/injury issues, Jamon deserved to be no later than a Second Rounder. The NFL, every team knew who this guy was, and passed for four rounds, teams with REAL NEED at OT. Something scared them off, and it wasn't his play at the Shrine Game, because he looked really good there, the last time he took the field before the Draft.

I was screaming for us to draft this guy and no one would listen to me.

I was on the Jamon train before anyone here.

I said, "if we draft this guy in the 5th, he'll be our starting Rt for a decade, if not, Pioli is a Nazi."

milkman 10-14-2009 04:46 PM

I'll wait to see how he looks in a few games before I melt down (again).

I did have him on my radar in the draft as a fifth rounder, with Fenuki Topou in the fourth.

I had Colin Brown on my radar as.......as...........

Wait, who the hell was Colin Brown?

Actually, I think Brown has a future..........as a guard.

No actually I thought he and Daryl Harris both looked like they could relly develop into solid to good NFL guards during the preseason.

They both were able to knock their defenders on their asses, and get into the second level as run blockers, and moved pretty well in space.

They also looked solid in pass protect.

HOF lock. Print em.

DeezNutz 10-14-2009 05:01 PM

No CP GMs would have been able to call this move.

Oh, wait...

Oh, wait...

Next year I'd like to come up with some kind of polling system.

At the end of each round we'll allow a "who would you have picked" poll. Majority wins.

I absolutely guarantee that the collective wisdom of CP outdoes the actual draft. The CP GMs would've outdone the last 10 years of Carl Peterson and to this point I have no doubt they would've absolutely obliterated this abortion of an offseason putforth by The Football Messiah.

There's no question.

The biggest problem, IMO, with a lot of people involved in pro sports is that they exist in a vacuum. But, the educated and analytical fan has a wider purview, which can be advantageous.

This is exactly why coaches often have no clue how to use timeouts or when to go for two. Meanwhile, the more educated fans know these situations better. Why? Because they watch a shit ton more games.

Thus far, the Executive of the Millennium has been an impressive cock tease.

Well if that was the case Sanchez would be here. :D

With the information that is available to fans these days if I were given a GM job the first thing I would do is askthe fans of that team waht they thought needed to be done. The fans have a pretty good handle on there teams these days. Of course some fans whould reply with "Fire Yourslef!"

At this point, I'd encourage Pioli to jam a Roberto Alomar twig up his urethra.

He's available again. waived today by bills.

He would be a good one for the swing T if they keep Brich starting when O'call gets healthy which i hope is the case. who knows.

He would have to pass through the other 31 teams as it is 2010 records now as far as the waiver claim awarding priority.

might have to break out my jamon avatar and pour out my 40 in remembrance of his career...

It's looking more and more like the 2009 NFL draft was very shallow in terms of true NFL talent

Basileus777 10-04-2010 07:00 PM

Not only did Meredith suck, apparently he was a bit of a headcase and lazy in practices. He got cut when Cornell Green is the Bills starting RT.

The obsession over him last year was beyond bizzare.

Well to be fair, Colin Brown was out the league as soon as he was healthy and Craig Urbik (3rd rounder) was cut by Pittsburgh.

What looked to be a deep offensive line draft class is turning out to be shallower than anticipated.
