Great Moments in Wonderlic History - 2005

They usually give the results with the defense first, starting with the DBs. In 2005, the CrimiNoles took the early lead, with Jerome Carter taking the DUMBEST Safety prize. Then the CrimiNoles struck again, taking DE with Eric Moore's lowest score of 9. The Gators chomped back into the fight with Jon Colon taking OT with a 12, or not quite statistically significant evidence of more intelligence than a parrot, which would theoretically score a 10 by answering "A" 50 times. With the score CrimiNoles 2, Gators 1, and Cokes 0, Miami was looking pretty desperate. But, with courage, dedication, and commitment, the Caines rallied...

TE: Kevin Everett - da "U" (12) ... and the crowd shouts "GO CAINES!!!!"
WR: Roscoe Parrish - da "U" (10) ... and just like that the Cokes and CrimiNoles are tied
RB: Frank Gore - da "U" (6) ... the delivery gets through, and the Cokes take the lead... crowd goes wild
QB: Brock Berlin - da "U" (13) - footnote: UF transfer

and the crowd just goes to freebase, as the co-Caines reel off FOUR IN A ROW to snatch the DUMBEST TEAM award from the CrimiNoles and Gators.

Final Score

Cokes 4
CrimiNoles 2
Gators 1+ (partial credit for Brock Berlin)

After the game, Bobby BowDUHn was asked about the disappointment of losing to the Cokes yet again.

"Gosh darn it. I can not believe we lost. I'll give the Cokes credit, they were dumber than we were this year. However, I think we have an excellent shot at taking the title back next year"

patteeu 10-16-2009 07:58 AM

Wow. Frank Gore got a 6? That's incredible.

cookster50 10-16-2009 08:00 AM

Is it because the Cokes is run by da Jews?

TFG 10-16-2009 08:02 AM

a play from 2004 Cokes- CrimiNoles

DUMBEST = lowest positional score on Wonderlic test

Cokes have a first down at the CrimiNole 36 yard line.

The DUMBEST WR goes in motion.

The DUMBEST QB takes the snap, fakes a handoff to the DUMBEST RB. The DUMBEST QB is pressured by the DUMBEST DE, gets away and throws at pass intended for the DUMBEST TE, but it gets broken up by the DUMBEST safety.

If you want to know the "true meaning" of the rivalry between the Cokes and the CrimiNoles, just cite the above play...

TFG likes to restrict his bizzare, anti-semitism to DC. Out here he's a no-nonsense football guy trying to fit in.

Ah, my bad.

TFG 10-16-2009 08:06 AM

The U had a dilemma a few years ago. Star WR Andre Johnson had been caught, repeatedly, cheating on tests and turning in papers plagiarized off the 'net. What to do? What was the priority of da U....

1. protecting the academic integrity of the program

or

2. beating the CrimiNoles in football

A: Johnson was allowed to play in all games...

I've wondered if TFG is a dupe of a longtime CP troll. Like percy_snow or marlboro_Chief.

MOhillbilly 10-16-2009 08:08 AM

I chuckled a couple times. Being stoopid (sic) is stoopid.

There is no glamorous way to polish that turd. If you aren't very smart your life is screwed.

MahiMike 10-16-2009 10:51 AM

I thought it was funny.

This thread is fine. Poorly formatted, sure, but the basic content -- making fun of idiots -- is good enough.

Looks like it got someone peeved. My "negative" rating just went back up to MAX again...

:D

Half the fun of being a Vanderbilt fan was the Wonderlic, or "discovering" how badly the other SEC programs cheat academically. For example, the "low" for all positions this year was a DT from our archrival Tennessee, Demonte Bolden, who came through with a 5. This was the first year in many not dominated by the state of FLA. It ended up a tie between LSU, which won FB and S, and the Cinderella surprise Nevada, which only had two players at the combine, but they made it count, taking home WR and MLB. So, it was Nevada winning the AP Poll, and LSU taking the Coach's Poll (because the coaches noticed that LSU finished "second" at OG with Herman Johnson and came close in several other positions.)

At least Smed makes sense some of the time, you on the other hand...

ChiefsCountry 10-16-2009 03:47 PM

A bunch of Florida smack on a board where majority even really cares about them is pretty lame.
