Do you still think we're the worst team in the NFL?

Last week, I thought we were. Now, I'm not so sure. I still think we're the least talented team in the league, but that's different than being the worst. We're still in terrible, terrible shape, but I don't think we're the worst off in the league any more.

petegz28 10-18-2009 07:29 PM

No, but still worse than Oakland

Deberg_1990 10-18-2009 07:29 PM

It really doesnt matter. The Bottom 4 or 5 teams are all about the same.

Any given week they would all beat each other honestly.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-18-2009 07:31 PM

We're better than Cleveland and the Rams.

JD10367 10-18-2009 07:31 PM

They took the Cowboys to OT. Why would that make you think they're the worst team?

The Raiders and Chiefs both moved up a bit today.

Cleveland, Tennessee, Detroit, Tampa Bay, St. Louis... all easily worse.

Even some 2-4 teams might be said to be worse (Washington, Seattle).

Seattle beat the Jags 41-0. We are not better than Seattle.

There are seemingly two Seattle's

We're not better than Detroit, either, IMO.

Before Stafford and Megatron got hurt, they were putting up points - something we can only seem to do when the opposition turns the ball over deep in their own end.

Before today, the Lions had only scored less than 19 points once.

We've gone under 19 four times.

WilliamTheIrish 10-18-2009 07:43 PM

We're pretty crummy. I'm not yet ready to annoint us "31st best" just yet.

TrickyNicky 10-18-2009 07:44 PM

I don't think we're the worst, but we are definitely one of the slowest.

You have a good coach that is getting the most out of the talent you have...
We have a decent coach that is not getting the most or even close to the talent he has.

The Chiefs are not even close to being the worst team in the NFL and I seriously think we are about even, today the Raiders played stellar D against a good team, I really think they are embaressed about getting their asses handed to them every week...

I am not asking for a SB team, I just want them to compet every week... thats the area the Raiders and Chiefs differ....

We have moments where we look better but they are few and far between, the Chiefs are more consistent in their game and can move the ball.

I think it's about a wash....

You could just as easily have beaten the Raiders as you lost it... the game was a dead heat suckfest

|Zach| 10-18-2009 07:47 PM

Not sure how someone could think we are worse then these teams.

tk13 10-18-2009 07:48 PM

I don't think we're more talented than Tennessee but they really aren't playing any better than us. Strange to say since we don't have anyone as explosive as Chris Johnson.

Mecca 10-18-2009 07:52 PM

It's hard to say, there are several horrible teams. I don't know if I can remember there being this many bad teams at once since they went to the cap format.

They completed 2 passes the entire game today for -7 net yards passing  Just amazing....and people complain about Cassel ;)

tk13 10-18-2009 07:55 PM

They were playing a better team than the Chiefs did, but either way... it looks like they're progressively quitting a little bit more each week.

Gonzo 10-18-2009 07:58 PM

Chris Johnson was still playing hard.

Bearcat 10-18-2009 07:59 PM

You know the NFL is getting harder to watch when this Chiefs team is not by far the worst in the league, and there may actually be ~5 that are worse.

TEX 10-18-2009 08:36 PM

We're not the worst, but we're pretty close to it. I'd say that the Rams are the worst followed by Tampa. Then there's a group that includes us, the Lions, Browns, Titans, and Raiders. But there is no doubt in my mind that we have the least amount of talent.

RJ 10-18-2009 08:44 PM

I believe we are right there with a group of impressively bad teams, any one of which could beat the Redskins on any given Sunday.

Pink Paradise 2010 10-18-2009 08:51 PM

its pretty sad when we were clutched with the cowboys, and we kicks butt today. i dont believe that we are the worst team in the NFL :)

DaneMcCloud 10-18-2009 08:56 PM

Nope.

I think it's a tie between the Rams & Browns. Tampa Bay has been like the Chiefs; in a few games and out of a few others.

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 10-18-2009 09:03 PM

Never did

Mr. Laz 10-18-2009 09:06 PM

close enough for it not to really matter.

2bikemike 10-18-2009 09:43 PM

I think we are a few good men from being respectable. But I don't think were the worse. Possible we have the worst o-line.

TinyEvel 10-18-2009 10:37 PM

Not the worst team. Maybe the worst O-line.

And no, KC's not the worst team in the league. Even without the talent, the Rams are still infinitely worse. So much for drafted a LT with the top 3 pick and getting 10 wins, eh (Think Cleveland, Miami)

kysirsoze 10-19-2009 03:05 AM

Like most, I never thought that. Rams, Browns, and Bucs. All worse. Honestly, I know it's hard to make the argument since we lost, but I think we're better than Oakland as well. We should have won and we'll win when we meet again.

At worst, though I think we're 4th worst or so. Let's throw a ****in party.

EyePod 10-19-2009 04:33 AM

I never felt we were the worst. We played better than Oakland but lost. We played better than Dallas but lost. We just can't score TD's, and that keeps the other teams in games with us. Thank god we don't play the Saints... They would OWN our ass.

Don't forget Tennessee.. I'd much rather be in the Chiefs position where we knew we weren't going to be anything good, but those Titans thought they were SB contenders...

PhillyChiefFan 10-19-2009 05:11 AM

I think the defense is coming together, we gave up the long run to Portis yesterday, and 1 long pass to Moss, other than that I think they did pretty well. Hali had a great game.

Offensively, Cassel needs to launch the ball more quickly, some of the misses he had weren't on him. Bowe dropped a sure-fire first down.

I am shocked about Tenn. Was Albert Haynesworth really that whole defense? Good lord, they made Tom Brady look like a God yesterday.

Kerry Collins was 2 of 12 for -7 yds. and 1 int. Vince Young was 0 of 2 and 1 int!

I don't think I have ever seen that poor of a qb showing.

the Talking Can 10-19-2009 06:19 AM

Least amount of talent. So you would say our coaching is over performing then?

jaa1025 10-19-2009 06:41 AM

I never thought we were the worst team...we are bad. We aren't as bad as Tampa, STL and a couple other teams.

I don't think we're the least talented. With them getting rid of Kellen Winslow and then Braylon Edwards I would put our talent level above that of Cleveland.

Maybe so. Who knows? I do know that the players are playing hard. Coaching is about average, though I do question some of the game-time decisions, play calling, and defensive philosophy at times. We played a team in Washington that is in a free fall. We are 1-5. We are who our record says we are.

keg in kc 10-19-2009 08:20 AM

How we look in January is more important to me than how we look in October, but I didn't think we were the worst team in the NFL before yesterday. The standings won't reflect it, but I think we're better than (at least) Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Oakland, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa, Tennessee and Washington. The biggest problem to me is that KC has sort of a tradition of suck now, years of losing to overcome and an entire roster than doesn't know how to finish a game (as the loss to Oakland demonstrates...). Yesterday was I hope a step in that direction.

Buehler445 10-19-2009 08:27 AM

No, I thought we might be for several games, but we pulled out a win on the road. That and Tampa and Cleveland are worse than I thought they'd be.

I have no idea what's the matter with Tennessee. None.

You're right. Every year under Herm the team got worse as the season went on. The whole culture changed and losing became the norm. The idea is to improve and build on what you have accomplished.

MahiMike 10-19-2009 08:28 AM

That is very true, I do think we have the least talent of the group but our coaching keeps us from the cellar. When we start restocking the talent on this team I see really good things happening.

ChiefMojo 10-19-2009 08:56 AM

Heck no we aren't the worst. The likes of the Rams, Bucs, and Browns are for sure worse than we are. I would argue we are on the equal footing of Oakland, Detroit, Seattle, Tennessee, and Washington's of the world. Some of these teams are going down hill fast. Oakland and Detroit are much like us in the fact they knew we were going to suck, but we are trying to work ourselves up. Again teams like Tennessee and Washington are imploding.

vailpass 10-19-2009 09:00 AM

Q. Which of these piles of shit do you think stinks the most?
A. Does it really matter?

wild1 10-19-2009 09:08 AM

We're the least talented, but not the worst team overall.

I think in a given week we'd stand a good chance to beat

Washington
Oakland
St. Louis
Cleveland
Tennessee
Detroit
Tampa Bay

I am picturing the top of the draft next year including these teams plus the Chiefs. We will end up picking somewhere in the #4-#7 range.

I can see it now, we're gonna be just "less $hitty" enough to miss out on the player we really need / want. LOL! We're CURSED! Even when we $UCK, we can't do it correctly. :D
