Jags apparently trying to trade Groves, could be use him as an OLB? If memory serves me correctly he is pretty quick. We could also use WR help.

Groves, a second-round pick in 2008 as a defensive end, has been moved this year to linebacker. On the team's current depth chart, Groves is listed as a third-stringer.

Groves was involved in an automobile accident on the way to the airport last week for the team flight to Seattle. He missed the plane because of it.

There also are rumblings that receiver Mike Sims-Walker could be available, too.

Sims-Walker is regarded as an up-and-comer. A third-round pick in 2007, he flashed promise in 2008 with a 107-yard game. But injuries then limited his effectiveness the rest of the season.

This year, he has generated 278 receiving yards and three scores in three starts. But his surprise deactivation last week might have landed him in a doghouse from which he'll have a hard time emerging.

The Ravens and Dolphins are widely believed to be looking for help at receiver. It's unknown whether either team has spoken to the Jags about Sims-Walker.

It could be that the Jags are willing to move him if someone will pay a premium based on his perceived potential. It's also possible that the Jaguars are trying to ensure that Sims-Walker has gotten the message regarding his "violation of team itinerary," which reportedly was fancy talk for hooking up.

Depending what Jax is asking for Groves, maybe.

Groves is a talented player, and a great fit for the 3-4.

And honestly, I don't know what it would take.

And Hamas or Mecca would be better to appropriate a value - he's a player I didn't focus much on in college, and have rarely watched him play in the pros.

The Jags took Groves and Harvey in the same draft and neither has done anything.

I'd offer one of our fifths for Groves and see if they bite. I don't think it's enough, but it's worth a shot, IMO.

My guess is that if Jacksonville is trying to deal him, no.

That's what I think as well. I think Groves would make a great rush backer.

What about DJ? Would this be one of those "change of scenery" things? I realize we would have to throw something in on top of DJ.

I know the Jags probably wouldn't just give away Sims-Walker, but I'd LOVE to see him opposite Bowe. It'd be nice to see the Jags pull a Browns & give him up for a 4th or 5th or something, though....

As for Groves, I'd definitely offer a low pick for him. Definitely a fast pass rusher that we could use coming off of the edge, especially if our DEs can continue to eat up blocks. I wouldn't give up much for him and (like Sims-Walker) I don't expect Jacksonville to sell low on him, but he could definitely give us a boost off the edge for the right price.
