So our NT depth chart

is just Ron Edwards now?

I wonder what happens when an offensive line rolls up on the back of his legs and he has to come out for a few plays.

Derrick Johnson at nose tackle FTW!!!!!!!!!

Iowanian 10-20-2009 03:06 PM

I predict they'll re-sign Lokey.

Christofire 10-20-2009 03:07 PM

We pretty much have to poach from a practice squad, don't we? Surely there isn't a 320 lb guy out there on the street who's athletic enough to just jump right in and play on Sunday.

kstater 10-20-2009 03:07 PM

I guess the Chiefs are doomed this year.

Iowanian 10-20-2009 03:12 PM

They worked out D-linemen a week or two ago. I can't remember the list, but it included Tim Anderson.

RedThat 10-20-2009 03:13 PM

I think Ron Edwards is doing alot better then what a lot of ppl expected.

Yes, he is ... but this thread is about depth since we only have 1 NT currently on the roster.

Saccopoo 10-20-2009 03:17 PM

They could pull a Detroit Lions and play offensive linemen there. Shit, they are big enough. With all the teams going to a 3-4, I'm actually surprised that this isn't happening on a more regular basis. There seems to be a dearth of 6'5", 330 lb. guys who play offensive guard who should be ideal for a NT position.

William Joseph and Marlon Favorite were the other two.

didn't Joseph sign with the giants or something?

RedThat 10-20-2009 03:20 PM

Sign Terdell Sands. Problem solved!

ChiefsCountry 10-20-2009 03:21 PM

I bet they sign Derrick Jones.

BigCatDaddy 10-20-2009 03:27 PM

Red Coater 10-20-2009 03:34 PM

crazycoffey 10-20-2009 03:54 PM

was it just tyler traded? did I miss more than that?

soundmind 10-20-2009 04:13 PM

We's gonna draft us a biggun...maybe a handful of em.

Saccopoo 10-20-2009 04:18 PM

The only way they pick Suh is if they trade Dorsey and the Detroit Lions pick after the Chiefs.

Saccopoo 10-20-2009 04:22 PM

I love watching those highlights of Suh though. As I've said before, reminds me so much of Dana Stubblefield when he was a senior in college. Absolutely dominant and able to take over a game from the DT spot. He'll be a good one for sure.

Coach 10-20-2009 04:43 PM

The Chiefs will go a 2-5 defense if Edwards get injured.

No, I think he only stuck around for a year. Damn I'll have look it up later. He was huge.

EDIT - Found him Montique Sharpe! Bring him back :)

Hey at least that would be something new and innovative.

BAS 10-20-2009 05:37 PM

What about rotating Dorsey or Jackson on passing downs to get a rush? In those situations, you play for speed and to split the defenders anyway. You could also go to a light version of the 4-3.

Groves 10-20-2009 05:41 PM

Bring back the mexitackle.

:hmmm: That's is an interesting thought.

DumbHillbillies 10-20-2009 05:57 PM

Wallace Gillberry. Al Wallace was on 610 today saying Gillberry is the probable back-up at NT. I wish Suh was a bit bigger he would be a good get come draft day.

Oxford 10-20-2009 06:36 PM

Richardson, the OL from the practice squad. He's big enough

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-20-2009 06:47 PM

Kelly Talavou, from the Ravens, might have been worth getting for a swap of our 5ths with Baltimore.

Gillberry is barely big enough to be a 3-4 end, how the heck is he going to be a NT?

I'd say that they might think they could use Dorsey as a Jay Ratliff type, but NE never played that kind of 3-4. They'll try and find some fat sumbitch.

boogblaster 10-20-2009 07:07 PM

Bring in anyone if Edwards goes down .. back to the 4-3 ....

Saccopoo 10-20-2009 07:48 PM

Big Ike. Turn that sumabitch into a DT yesterday.

OnTheWarpath15 10-20-2009 07:58 PM

Sign Jason Shirley off of the Bengals practice squad.

That big mofo could play NT, IMO.

Rain Man 10-20-2009 07:58 PM

I bet if we asked nice the NFL would let us go by weight and put two cornerbacks in there instead of a nose tackle.

booger 10-20-2009 08:01 PM

They could pull a Tom Barndt ( C/G who switched to DT) with Andy Alleman who was a DT at Pitt before transfering to Akron and switching to G.

I'd rather just go find a NT though.

Maybe they want to take their time with the bye week coming up to work out some more NT's. Either way i'd expect some movement over the bye week with them being heavy with 4 TE's and 10 LB's. Or maybe drop a WR.

They could get by with waiving Pierre Walters and adding him to the PS if he clears which he most likely would. Then DJ could play both OLB and ILB. Might as well use him as a pass rusher if they can't coach his inconsistancies in pass coverage out of him.

booger 10-20-2009 08:06 PM

Richardson was only activated because of Albert's ankle. Then they dropped Rogers who they signed to replace Battle on special teams more than anything. So they could try and waive and hope Richardson clears waivers again to put him back on the PS. Depends on Albert's ankle. Also could just cut Ndukwe and keep Richardson instead. May as well if they won't try Ndukwe at G instead of T.

cabletech94 10-20-2009 08:09 PM

Has anyone said Whitlock yet?

cabletech94 10-20-2009 08:10 PM

I mean really. Think about it. Possibilities are really endless.
To the 'ship!!!

Mr. Laz 10-20-2009 08:13 PM

Most offensive lineman aren't mean enough to play Dline.

Sfeihc 10-20-2009 08:15 PM

Alex Magee?

Iowanian 10-20-2009 08:17 PM

There is a gal on the Biggest Loser that could probably play NT.

Jesus. And I was being serious about Ndukwe. I had no idea that Alleman was actually a DT at one point at a good football school like Pitt. ****. Throw that guy over the line ASAP!

ChiefsCountry 10-20-2009 10:01 PM

Yeah a guy with back problems needs to be sent to the DL.

magee is 300.................nah

salame 10-20-2009 10:07 PM

Lokey is only 270 ugh

RustShack 10-20-2009 10:12 PM

Goff is good at helping people get to the QB. Lets try him out at NT.

Demonpenz 10-20-2009 10:14 PM

Does madden this year even allow you to pick a 4-3 defense? Do we even have any 4-3 looks? That would be embarrassing of we don't, but maybe Petergrasp can rent madden to get some 4-3 plays in htere

salame 10-20-2009 10:15 PM

I really wonder is we will see ant 4-3 sets

RustShack 10-20-2009 10:18 PM

If we planed on using any 4-3 sets I doubt we would have traded Tank.

Tank was traded because he was a chronic masterbater. He would leave tissues all around the locker room

Reggie Dunlop: Oh you cheap son of a bitch. Are you crazy? Those guys are reeruns!
McGrath: I got a good deal on those boys. The scouts said they showed a lot of promise.
Reggie Dunlop: They brought their ****in' TOYS with 'em!
McGrath: Well, I'd rather have em playin with their toys than playin with themselves
Reggie Dunlop: They're too dumb to play with themselves. Boy, every piece of garbage that comes into the market and you gotta buy it!
McGrath: Reg, Reg, that reminds me. I was coachin' in Omaha in 1948 and Eddie Shore sends me this guy who was a terrible masturbator, you know, couldn't control himself. Why, he would get deliberate penalties so he could get over in the penalty box all by himself and damned if he wouldn't... you know...

It was the heyday of disco and John Holmes and Seka and...oh, shit. I just gave away two of my picks for the Mock Porn Draft in the Draft Planet/Chiefs Planet section.

I said nothing...
