LJ suspended indefinitely

http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/10/27/chie...-indefinitely/

done.

wild1 10-27-2009 12:26 PM

I would be happy if he has had his last (2.7 yard) carry as a Chief.

CoMoChief 10-27-2009 12:28 PM

When i heard something was going down yesterday I immediately got Charles from the Waiver Wire in my fantasy leagues.

I did that last night.

Charles has fantasy value?

Poor GoChiefs... Claythan is devastated!

arrowheadnation 10-27-2009 12:29 PM

When does Kolby Smith return?

Mr. Arrowhead 10-27-2009 12:30 PM

no where in there says LJ is suspended indefinitely. It just says what we already knew, but he is barred from team activities until we further investigate.

Only to someone that is ridiculously desperate at RB.

Yea, I would think he would be more of an option as a full time option to replace LJ than Charles.

I would have thought if Haley thought Jammal could have fit that role he would have made the switch by now just based on LJ's production or lack there of.

Mr. Laz 10-27-2009 12:39 PM

they didn't want him at practice

Pretty much.

The official statement said they won't make any comments until after the investigation is complete.

gblowfish 10-27-2009 12:53 PM

Trade Leon to the Raiders for Jamarcus Russell. Turn Russell into a Tight End, same as the Raiders turned Ethan Horton into a TE. Guy sure can't play QB, but he is big and can block.

Now all the sudden I go back to the NFL.com site and they changed it to CHiefs ban LJ. WTF?? Can't even get a bone thrown my way.

Mr. Kotter 10-27-2009 01:04 PM

kstater 10-27-2009 01:11 PM

So apparently there's an investigation going on.

kstater 10-27-2009 01:12 PM

This is not a suspension at this time.

Mr. Arrowhead 10-27-2009 01:14 PM

holy shit, the KC media are idiots, they know Haley is not gonna comment, so what do they do, the first 5 questions are about the LJ situation.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-27-2009 01:15 PM

I love this for multiple reasons

1) He's a one who sucks the penis
2) Priest will still end up as the all-time rusher in franchise history (how poetic)
3) I already had Charles in a 16 team league that counts return yards.

How long does it take this organization to read 12 "tweets" and listen to one audio clip on the KC Star website?

DTLB58 10-27-2009 01:29 PM

The title isn't incorrect, is it.

Some people are just assuming that he was suspended by the league when in reality it's the Chiefs that did it.

HypnotizedMonkey 10-27-2009 01:36 PM

We're f'd with LJ and Matt Sackel's deals. These mutha****az went full reerun.

kcfanXIII 10-27-2009 01:36 PM

hope he never suits up for us again. he can go to buffalo to die with TO.

edit: on a side rant, man, wtf is with kc organizations not getting shit right. the royals keep sweeney and trade beltran away for 2 AAAA players, and a pitcher that never amounted to anything, and the chiefs keep LJ and get rid of one of the brightest young defensive stars in this league. once again for players that don't appear to be worth it at this point, IMO.

TDreiling82 10-27-2009 01:37 PM

I completely agree its time to start a new era at the running back position by starting Jammal Charles

Calm down nancy, when I first made the post the title in the headline said he was suspended. After time things have now been changed. So really I can't help the fact that the title was what I originally put, and since Haley won't comment on it, the press is now flip floping for a solid headline.

The semantics are probably important with regards to triggering responses, procedures and requirements, much like the police choosing to avoid the word "suspect" in favor of "person of interest".

Statement on RB Larry Johnson

Oct 27, 2009, 12:30:36 PM

The Kansas City Chiefs and the National Football League are continuing to investigate the alleged comments made by Larry Johnson. Until that review is complete, the Chiefs have instructed Larry to refrain from practicing with the Chiefs or participating in other team activities. A decision regarding Larry’s status will be made once the investigation has concluded.

Sounds like he is deep do do either way.

MMXcalibur 10-27-2009 03:00 PM

Cut him and let's move on already. Running backs are very much interchangeable and in this case....it would be an upgrade considering my grandmother could average more than 2.7 yards per carry on her broken hip (even behind our O-line! Now, that's skill!).

Red Dawg 10-27-2009 03:15 PM

Good! Time to move on without him anyway. Smith, Charles and Savage have more game breaking ability. We are better off.

LOCOChief 10-27-2009 03:21 PM

He should have been gone 2 years ago. LJ you're a POS and you need to get a new apology writer they're sounding alot like a broken record.

That is funny!

stevieray 10-27-2009 04:34 PM

he's a fraud....last week he was schmoozing with Mitch, talking about how he's all focused and understands his role and how much he appreciates the fans...blahblahblah.

I'll never understand why they hand so much money(power) to people unequipped to deal with it...and subsequently watch them crash and burn.... LJ doesn't have the "luxury" of this excuse....he came from a good upbringing only to repeatedly embarass his parents, the team and the city.

I knew when he showed up at Arrowhead being chauffered in his Maybach that he wasn't and would never be a team player.

Won't bother me a bit if never dons the red and gold again.

LaChapelle 10-27-2009 04:44 PM

LJ's contract was signed by Peterson not Pioli. Maybe Pioli and his lawyers faint at the sight of dried blood.

This is ridiculous!!!!

Why would Smith who is coming off of MAJOR knee surgery, and has been hurt more than Charles has in his career make a better full time back? That is idiotic!

I hate the thinking that Charles can't be a full time back because truth be told....nobody knows.

I'll actually be surprised if Smith plays.

It generally takes two years to recover fully from a ACL surgery and it's barely been one year at this point.

Agreed.

The fact is, Kolby Smith wasn't a full time back in college and hasn't been with success in the NFL either. The thinking that he can be a FT back is ridiculous.

Charles needs an opportunity. If he can't be a FT back, then KC needs to know that.....soon.
