How many Trick-or-Treaters drop by your house this year?

So far, we've had 3... and we have shit tons of candy left.

****.

Oh well... plenty of candy for the movie theater visits this year.

Deberg_1990 10-31-2009 07:13 PM

About a thousand.

Lzen 10-31-2009 07:15 PM

Do you mean groups or actual # of each trick or treater? I have had about 8-10 groups. Probably about 25-40 kids total. Seems a little low this year. For awhile, I didn't think we were gonna get much of any. Once it got dark, cars started pulling up along the street and kids got out to go to each house with a light.

My theory is that the Trunk or Treat phenomenon is taking away house to house people. Seems like every year there are more Trunk or Treat events at various churches.

Saulbadguy 10-31-2009 07:16 PM

0.

Doorbell disabled, lights turned off.

kstater 10-31-2009 07:17 PM

0, but I prefer it that way. Don't have anyone living anywhere near me.

Mr. Laz 10-31-2009 07:19 PM

not many this year

luv 10-31-2009 07:20 PM

None. I didn't expect any, but I got some candy just in case. Looks like it will be going to work with me on Monday.

DaFace 10-31-2009 07:22 PM

A shit ton. This is our first year in this neighborhood, and we are quickly discovering that the thing to do around here is have kids. I had to run out and buy more candy.

I'd probably guess we've had 100 so far (and it's only been dark for an hour here).

Coach 10-31-2009 07:22 PM

Seems like we have roughly around 200, give or take.

Also gave out free kids meals coupon from Applebees.

Yeah, we ran out pretty damn fast, but fortunatley, found some coupons that I mentioned on my previous post.

None. I like it.

Well, it helps when you're standing on the porch yelling "Get off my lawn".

ROFL

chiefs1111 10-31-2009 08:01 PM

same as every year since ive lived here,0

pr_capone 10-31-2009 08:10 PM

We had zero... same as last year and the year before that.

Being on a main street I guess takes away from kids stopping by. I had full size candy bars to give out the first time... 2 boxes full.

Didn't buy anything this year.

KChiefs1 10-31-2009 08:14 PM

I've lived here 10 years & I've had exactly 0 trick or treaters.

alanm 10-31-2009 08:31 PM

About 50-60 and still have candy left. We got about 2 feet of snow on Thursday and it's all melted the last 2 days. I thought sure on Friday morning we weren't going to have any but it's still 54 degrees out at 8:30 pm.

jynni 10-31-2009 08:51 PM

Two groups, maybe 10-12 kids total.

88TG88 10-31-2009 08:58 PM

2 or 3

Reerun_KC 10-31-2009 09:00 PM

0 not a one....

But we live on the edge of town, very little traffic around here...

RJ 10-31-2009 09:04 PM

Probably two hundred or more. I just closed up shop, 9:00 is my limit. Time for me to trick or beer at my refrigerator door.

Northside huh?

ArrowheadHawk 10-31-2009 09:16 PM

I got about 30.

tiptap 10-31-2009 09:25 PM

I handed out just shy of 1000 pieces of candy. Now depending on the rate (so as not to have any left at the end of the night) I do hand out two instead of just one. And I hit just a bit into my emergency stash of smaller sized candy at around 9:20. I guess around 600 total.

teedubya 10-31-2009 09:29 PM

Trick or Beer!!! I love that RJ.

TrebMaxx 10-31-2009 09:34 PM

Zero, but I suppose not having the porch light on contributed to that low count.

That a the "Beware of Dog" sign helps. Oh and the taped sound of children screaming & chainsaws helped me keep the count to under 10. ROFL

JOhn 10-31-2009 09:46 PM

They shut down Main street from 4-6pm and all the business give out candy. So most of the small ones go there. I took my kids up there & they made out like bandits. Looks like dad has got plenty of chocolate for the next couple of weeks :D

JohninGpt 10-31-2009 09:49 PM

We had a bunch, but we bait them.
I loved Halloween as a kid, and try to pass it on.

ArrowheadMagic 10-31-2009 09:53 PM

20 maybe, but live in a development with a lot of mid 50's people(less younger kids). More candy for me.

Rain Man 10-31-2009 10:02 PM

We had about 15, which is slightly above average.

My last one was a woman who was probably 25, rather portly and in goth wear, all by herself. I gave her a KitKat bar because I thought she was kind of pathetic.

KCrockaholic 10-31-2009 11:26 PM

Zip. Same as always. I live in the Colorado desert.

TinyEvel 10-31-2009 11:30 PM

Not sure, but I bet it was less than three.

Our neighborhood was built in 1978 and most of the residents are original owners, kids are grown and in college. Nothing but GILFs left.

Don't worry if you feel like you're behind. We don't really encourage Chiefs fans to have children around these parts.

Just keep the candy coming.

That's what I'm talkin about.

BigRedChief 10-31-2009 11:53 PM

Went through 7 bags of candy.

Goth is always pathetic.

Lonewolf Ed 11-01-2009 12:17 AM

Zero. It has been about 24 years since the last ones came by. More candy for me, then.

Are you really creepy-looking or something?

mikeyis4dcats. 11-01-2009 11:34 AM

none. none last year, and only 2 or 3 the year before. We live in central Topeka but in an older demographic neighborhood.

bevischief 11-01-2009 11:45 AM

About 20, done by 7pm too many parties for the little ones to go to around here between the churches and school.

Pink Paradise 2010 11-01-2009 11:47 AM

i was the trick or treater....lol....

Nice play on words. . .

Sandyskc 11-01-2009 02:28 PM

about 140 not counting grandkids

morphius 11-01-2009 02:37 PM

We had around 100 we figure, down a bunch from last year. I loved wearing my costumes when I was a kid, and always disliked the old bitter jackass neighbors who hid in their house to save a few bucks.

gblowfish 11-01-2009 06:33 PM

I had about 30 this year. One little sh*t tried to take the whole bowl!
He got his hand smacked.....
Little bastard.

Frazod 11-02-2009 11:00 AM

We were out until early evening, didn't get a single trick or treater. Left with a huge bag of Twix and Reeses peanut butter cups that neither of us need. :shake:

Demonpenz 11-02-2009 11:02 AM

instead of candy I hand out bible quotes. The biggest candy in the world is your salvation.

seclark 11-02-2009 11:03 AM

4

3 grandkids, and 1 nephew.

of course, we live out in the country.

DJ's left nut 11-02-2009 01:16 PM

We had a tick over 300 kids come by.

The kids from the 3-6 yrs old range got the good stuff.

Tiny kids that didn't know better and jackass teenagers that didn't dress up got one of those little sleeves of whoppers or a fun-sized hershey bar. C'mon, at least put some effort into it, don't just show up in a football jersey with your backpack in hand.

And the dogs, harmless as they are (being labradors) hung out by the door the whole time just in case anyone thought eggs or TP were a good idea (and petting from the occasional 5 year old kept them content). They'd never hurt anything, but they're big, dark and LOUD; they'll scare you pretty good. Anyone coming by to !@#$ with my house will just move onto the next one.

Radar Chief 11-02-2009 01:17 PM

Bunches, probably a couple hundred or more.
We recently moved to a new location, lots more families with kids around us now where our old house was surrounded by retired folks.

Hell, I remember when we used to get candy apples, popcorn balls, cookies, cupcakes and brownies from the neighborhood old ladies and they were safe to eat. And freak’n delicious too.

It's really sad how society has changed. I don't really think there are that many more deviants out there than there used to be, but with all the media oversaturation of anything bad that happens people with kids are just scared to death. I lived at the end a mile long street when I was a kid, would walk up one side and down the other and come back with a grocery bag full of candy, no adults, nothing bad ever happened. Now kids (at least up here) have to trick or treat with their parents during set hours in daylight. What the **** is that? Are we really supposed to assume now that there's some leering child molesting pervert on every block?

Were the 70s really that long ago? :shake:

Dartgod 11-02-2009 01:31 PM

13 kids total in four groups, which is about twice as many as we usually have.

Iowanian 11-02-2009 01:34 PM

Someone stole my giant pumkin.

When I find out which of the local HS kids did it, I think I'm going to trick them...by either a car full of live pigeons or maybe a live animal(opossum or something).

I've seen what 3 pigeons will do to the inside of a car in a short afternoon. It looks like an elephant had dysentary in that car.

Alton deFlat 11-02-2009 01:41 PM

I had about 30. They ranged in size from tiny and cute, to twice my size. One very large 16-17 year old girl, who had to be carrying around 15 lbs of candy in a sack.

Good point, we used to basically get cut loose to run crazy that night.
I wouldn’t dream of letting my boy out like that now.

Buck 11-02-2009 02:04 PM

3 Groups of Kids / About 8 Total

My neighbors told me last year they had 0 kids the whole night.

Yeah, we've really lost something. Sure wish I knew where it went.

MVChiefFan 11-02-2009 03:38 PM

We quit passing out candy about two years ago. The last time we did it a group of questionable teenagers came to my door and while I was giving them candy one of them looked past me and said "nice tv". All I could picture was this turd and his buddies coming back later to take another bigger more electronic treat.

My favorite part of Halloween is going to the store and buying only a bag of apples and some razorblades. When the checkout chick gives me a horrified enough look, I ask her out.

MahiMike 11-02-2009 05:01 PM

about a dozen. seems like every year fewer kids come. Too bad, I guess.

wild1 11-02-2009 05:02 PM

Not one. But I live in a building with controlled access and very few kids living in it.
