Interesting tidbit
I know, it's Peter King, but he's just quoting somebody.
[QUOTE]"The uncapped year is definitely going to happen. We're already running short on time. I could be wrong ... But I think at this point in the life of the NFL, the uncapped year is something the owners are willing to take a look at. If that ends up happening, it could really change the landscape of the NFL.'' -- New York Giants center and player rep Shaun O'Hara, to me and Bob Papa on Sirius/XM NFL Radio Friday morning. /QUOTE] Mother****er, that's scary as shit. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200.../Week11/2.html |
That will be the end of the NFL as you know it... It will all but die out in cities like KC if that happens...
I will basically treat it like I do baseball and just flat out not give a shit if is played or not... Will become a full time college fan.... |
The owners make the players look like they are UNICEF when it comes to greed. **** all of them, starting with Jerry Jones and Daniel Snyder. I can't blame them, though. :(
With that said, the NFL is going to shoot itself in the foot. Once this happens, the big markets will never allow it to go back to the way it was. College Football fan ONLY will be I if the league goes uncapped for too long. I hate the low-spending baseball teams just as much as the Yankees and Red Sox. They are pocketing the luxury tax money and not spending it on players. **** Baseball. |

I agree with notorious....
IF this happens, the NFL will die a slow painful baseball type of death... Nobody cares about baseball, so why would anyone care about the NFL if they allow the big market teams to run away with the money... |

I cant see where this will better the game in any way shape... |
Reerun, what are you talking about, when did baseball die? I still see it on TV and hear it on the radio 162 goddamn times a year.

Until there is a fair playing field in baseball, it can go **** itself... IF the NFL goes that way, it will lose fans by the millions... |
I am surprised that Goddell's Iron fist badass self isnt forcing a meeting to prevent this from happening...
This could essentually kill the NFL's cash cow... TV ratings will drop dramatically, Sunday Ticket sales will drop... What good can come from this... |
It's a player rep saying that, so I'm not sure how much credence I'd give it. There's going to be a lot of posturing from everybody for a while.

Still, if the NFL goes that way, maybe there's a small chance for seeing people get so fed up with pro leagues that they become a thing of the past. I'd love to see college being the furthest a person can go with athletics; I've seen too much academic potential believe so whole-heartedly in making it pro that they wasted their college career to train, play, and get dumped into the first cubicle they could find. |
I don't think it's a good thing, but really... you look at football and it's the same three teams every year anyway. Patriots, Colts, and Steelers. Baseball isn't a level playing field at all, but the common argument is baseball is broken and football is great. And baseball's actually had 7 or 8 different teams win this decade. Small market teams like Florida and Tampa have had success, at least for a year or two at a time. We don't even get that in football. It's the Patriots and Colts just like every other year. And if they falter here comes the Steelers.

Towards the end, it was an abyss. The crowds will be absolute shit there next year if they play anything like they did season. There's just no justification to go spend the ridiculous money they ask for. Posted via Mobile Device |
