Gretz practice report 11/27 update
November 27, 2009 - Bob Gretz | Comments (3)
From the Truman Sports Complex Three players have been declared out of the Chiefs game against the Chargers on Sunday, and one more is very unlikely to play. G Andy Alleman (knee), RB Dantrell Savage (ankle) and LB Justin Rogers (thigh) were declared out of action on Friday by head coach Todd Haley. The fourth is OLB Mike Vrabel (knee) who is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game in San Diego but is unlikely to be dressed or on the playing field. Also on the team’s injury report to the league are LB David Herron (knee), who is listed as questionable and RB Kolby Smith (ankle) who is probable. The Chiefs are still at 52 on the 53-man active roster and the coaches and personnel people were meeting Friday afternoon to decide how to handle the open spot. The team will either promote somebody from the practice squad, or leave the spot open. If they do the latter, they will then have to declare only seven inactive players on Sunday, not the normal eight when a team has a full roster. Candidates to move up from the practice squad would appear to be S Ricky Price and WR Quinten Lawrence. On the nicest weather day of the week so far, Haley decided to take his team inside to practice on Friday morning. Something about being able to turn up the crowd noise and create louder conditions to work in as the Chiefs finished up their practice week. Haley was pleased with the focus and intensity of his players coming back after having Thanksgiving Day off, but allowed that the true test on whether the holiday off was a good move would come Sunday in San Diego. |
Promote Quinten Lawrence and give him a 6-game tryout to determine his future here.
Let him return punts and kickoffs. |

and here comes the Quinten is so valuable he just needs a chance squad.
10,9,8 ..... |
Savage 'ankle' = still in the DogHowse, he wasnt gimping around the sidelines after those 16 fumbles.
I still like what he brings, but whoa... you better tighten it up Dantrell. |

Kolby Smith is worrisome though, not that i recall him being a fumbler... but how recovered is he? Though it does sound like the coaches like him, http://www.profootballweekly.com/200...role-grow-soon. |
I hope we decide to blitz the QB more than last time-geez cry me a River had all day back there last game. He had time to pull out his gay porn, spank it and then throw deep for the TD.

This from the guy who has absolutely NOTHING to add to any conversation, other than to criticize ANYONE with an opinion. You're worthless to this forum. Hopefully, you're not as worthless outside of this forum because if so, talk about EPIC FAIL. LMAO |

You're the asshole that doesn't add anything to the board other than jerkin it with your draft buddy experts. Now go play NFL GM somewhere. PS: I have a badass real life. Not sure about yours, but you're here an awful lot. Thats kinda telling. |

I'd estimate that 90% of the time, your posts refer to specific members, not a discussion point. And this is no exception. Quote:

I've been here for 9 years. I average 6 posts per day. It takes me, on average, less than 30 seconds to post a response, making it about 3 minutes a day that I post. So again, wrong. |
Reality sinks .... # 53 doesn't matter ...............

Steelers released WR Shaun McDonald.
The Steelers never planned on using the veteran receiver unless injuries struck. He was way behind Mike Wallace and Limas Sweed ever since training camp. It's unlikely McDonald will get any bites around the league as the slot receiver has never done much without Mike Martz |

BH followed me around like a ****ing dog for the first 8 months I was here, adding nothing to the actual conversation, rather just insulting me for idiotic reasons and then following it up with negn me on bunches of random posts. I have done nothing of following others to gain my opinion of the idiot. In regards to dane, I kinda look at it like in HS, some of my better friends were guys I initially hated and got in a few fights with...we both kinda walked away with a type of mutual respect from those altercations. I guess some of you don't understand. Thats nothing new, most of you guys cant understand simple concepts. Quote:
I have nothing against either of you, and am not trying to encite a riot just asking how you have come to your conclusions. you can bank on the fact that whenever bh shows up to criticize posters without adding to the topic in any way, he will get blasted and it is a lot more than just me or dane doing so. The guy is a waste. |

Damn, you're a genius. |
Oh, and I see QL on the practice squad for a Long time.
|
Cool. Call Lawrence up. I think they should give him a shot.
We need to experiment and find guys that can perform for the return game. At 3-7 this team can afford to do that. If the Chiefs can find that return guy, they'll have a really really solid special teams. I've always found Lawrence to be an intriguing prospect. the guy does have electrifying speed. Lets see what Lawrence can do, and give Charles more touches at RB. |

I actually like the depth of these receivers now. I hate Bobby Wade, but I think we could have something to build on for next year with Chambers (if he is resigned), Long and Bowe.
If anything, they should be bringing up the Harris guy. |

Jets waive Justin Miller
Posted by Michael David Smith on November 28, 2009 5:28 PM ET New York Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum announced today that the Jets have waived cornerback/kick returner Justin Miller. The news comes as a surprise: Jets special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff said on Friday that Miller would probably play on Sunday. Instead, he's no longer on the team. A second-round draft pick of the Jets in 2005, Miller was waived during the 2008 season and claimed by the Raiders. This year the Raiders let him go and the Jets brought him back, but he played in only one game. Although he's been inconsistent, Miller has undeniable talent as a kickoff returner. He has a career average of 26.1 yards per return, with five touchdowns. |

Bobby Wade is soft. Even though he has good hands and is a decent route runner, he is slow and brings zero toughness to the table. I still think the Chiefs should draft a receiver though, sign Chambers, keep Long and with Bowe there yeah I could see this position as being one of the strongest on the team. |
