Walters Thursday Updated Mock Draft

http://walterfootball.com/draft2010.php

1st Okung T Oklahoma State
2nd Miller OLB Texas A&M
2nd Spikes MLB Florida
3rd Stuckey S Kansas

NFLDraftCounddown is updated as well (one round only)...

http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-A.php

1st Okung

talastan 12-17-2009 08:33 AM

I'd rather have Mays in the first if Berry is gone, but the rest isn't too bad. Spikes and Miller would give us an upgrade in the LB corps and replace the Stuckey in the third with an interior OL and you're good IMO.

KurtCobain 12-17-2009 09:05 AM

okung stinks

MahiMike 12-17-2009 09:06 AM

Now you're talkin! I'd be good with that. Especially Spikes.

Chiefnj2 12-17-2009 09:07 AM

Walter Football has to be one of the worst draft sites.

Okung isn't nearly as bad as people on this board make him out to be, in fact, he's pretty good and will fit very nicely into a zone blocking team. He has very good feet and can easily get to the 2nd level.

Hays 12-17-2009 09:14 AM

too many big 12 players

Cosmos 12-17-2009 09:25 AM

How about an offensive playmaker somewhere??

WR, RB ??

Direckshun 12-17-2009 09:29 AM

I'm loving the second round. Holy jeez that'd be great.

So many needs so few picks.

KevB 12-17-2009 09:50 AM

I realize this doesn't address one of the top needs we have (S, OL, LB, NT).....but pairing Spiller with Charles has me salivating. Two guys that can take it to the house anytime they touch the ball out of the backfield or on returns would be so nice. Return TDs and 76 yard runs from scrimmage can absolutely flip a game from a loss to a win. They keep each other fresh, and you can throw them back there to return kicks as well. You typically hear teams pairing a big with a small (thunder and lightning)....but what's wrong with Lightning paired with Lightning.

I'm not saying that's absolutely who we should take, but I wouldn't hate it.

BigCatDaddy 12-17-2009 10:05 AM

Not bad in rounds 2-3. If we could trade that 1st round pick and address the O-Line and WR postion that would be even better.

tyton75 12-17-2009 10:09 AM

I think we'll trade down in the 1st anyway

Chiefnj2 12-17-2009 10:13 AM

There is a very nice block of blue collar talent from 72 -87 (Decker, Johnson, Gerhart, Gilyard, Black, Graham, Canfield, Micah Johnson and Tennant).

TEX 12-17-2009 10:18 AM

Nothing like following the draft ALL season...ROFL

ToxSocks 12-17-2009 10:21 AM

Alright, ima go ahead and start convincing myself that Okung is the right pick, that way, when we draft him, i won't be as pissed.

We could have Okung at LT, Albert at LG, Waters at C...and still have shit on the right side.....ehh...not a bad left side, but still shit on the right.

**** this. we need a playmaker with our #1. Find Linemen in the later rounds. Albert is fine at LT and Waters is fine at LG.

Easy solution. Don't click on the links that refer to the draft. Problem solved.

Put Kris O'Dowd in place of Stuckey, and that's a ridiculous draft.

I'll be the 1st to say I don't know anything about draft prospects, however I would like to see the offense get some attention as well. Most of our early picks lately have been on defense.

That would be OK (but you are going to piss off a bunch of people by suggesting a loss may help the cause :)). My preference would be build for the future, and take Clausen who went one pick later to Washington. The write up on Clausen compairs him to Aaron Rodgers. I could live with that big time. Let him learn for a year or two behind Capitan Checkdown, and then take over for the next 12 to 15 years. :thumb:

This I like, except, jack Stuckey. We don't need a Safety in the 3rd, we'll need a good OL.

if we don't get berry, then a get a playmaker....spiller in that case absolutely (yes, it violates pretty much every theory of the draft espoused on this board for years)...if we could trade down 5 spots or so (yes, magically) then McClain would be fine by me too...

or any QB anywhere...if by any you mean clausen or canfield...

You can trade down from 5 to get CJ Spiller - how far, I don't know. But, I agree with your thoughts here.

If we're drafting 5/6, and Berry and Mays are both off the board, McClain is the one guy I wouldn't be upset to reach a bit for.

Honestly, I don't really think it's much of a reach, he's going to go Top 10, (or damn close) IMO.

I honestly would be ****ing ecstatic with that draft. We could still easily grab a RT in the 4th. But that draft would help out our defense greatly.

Dorsey - Edwards - Jackson

Hali - Williams - Spikes - Hughes

Flowers - Berry - Page - Carr
