This time last year, the Chiefs were better.... MUCH better on defense, offense and special teams.

I think the talent is similar, maybe even a little better. So, the only thing to look at is coaching... or the lack of it.

I read that, and I agree with them. If you say something rude to someone you should not be surprised to get a negative reaction.

What happened to civility? Why has our culture devolved to the point where insulting someone is something to be praised? Where did our values go?

I sat in George's seats last year, and I heard people saying MUCH worse things to players and coaches, and not one of them flipped off the crowd.

It was a complete overreaction on Haley's part, and is as unprofessional as it gets.

Not once did I hear him bitch that Haley gave him the finger. Not once did I hear how Haley had wronged him and that Haley deserved to give him an apology.

You're exactly right. We are WORSE than last year despite the better record. I'd also like to add that many hear, myelf included, figured that Haley would be responsible for at least 2 more wins this season. That has not happened. In fact, his coaching might even have cost us a couple.

I think they both handled themselves fine. George expressed his opinion that Haley should be fired (which I'm beginning to agree with) and Haley flipped him off. George reported it with no drama. Sounds like a fairly cordial exchange of opinions to me...

My dad was a season ticket holder throughout the '70s. He wouldn't have dreamed of saying that to a coach. people weren't like that then.

I'm decrying the lack of civility we have today, where it is not only considered acceptable, but applauded. I find that offensive. Sorry if I'm old fashioned.

Just to put it out there I just ran the numbers, our oppenents averaged 27.5 point against us last year, this year they average 27.35714...

Seems we haven't went anywhere, and as a note we gave up 54 points to the struggling Bills team last year.

Is it OK to boo at games? I figure if I can't tell the coach he deserves to be fired, that I can't boo the team when they drop passes, etc. It may hurt there feelings!

I already said I wasn't defending Haley. I'm against the incivility we have today in every aspect of life from football to politics. But I wouldn't expect you to understand. You throw out more unprovoked insults than anyone here.

There's nothing uncivil about telling a guy he deserves to be fired, especially if it's true.

Wow it's almost like people forgot how bad this team was last year and how they mailed it in with weeks left in the season.

I'm not saying a bunch of progress has been made, but regressed from last year? Uh no. If this team had actually regressed we wouldn't have won a single game. Last years team was that bad too. I think people get too involved in the present sometimes to accurately judge the past.

I don't think there has been MUCH progress made, but the offensive line looks to be rounding into shape now. I think really if it continues we could go into the offseason just needing an upgrade at center and possibly right guard. Not sure what to do about Waters, but either way, it's not as big a pressing need as it was last year. So there is progress.

Dorsey is light years a better player. Carr and Flowers both continued to build on good rookie seasons, Charles is obviously going to be our feature back, we just need a compliment to him for 8-10 carries a game. Cottam, every time he's been given a chance has made the most of it, should be our starting TE. Albert has worked his way out of his early funk.

The areas that need addressing are really the entire linebacking corps outside of Hali. I honestly think that Belcher and Studebaker are the only two guys outside of Hali worth keeping. Both are good special teamers and Belcher can play inside or outside. We also need a true nose tackle and at least one starting safety.

And mainly, we need to hire an offensive coordinator and replace Pendergast. I think if all of those changes happen this offseason we could easily be a 8-10 team win team next season. Some may laugh, but quick turn arounds aren't difficult anymore. A true nose tackle and two stud inside backers with a great safety would turn the defense around practically overnight (granted with a new coordinator).

Oh and we need some receivers obviously but I mainly got off on the defense.

I agree with this, but GB is a customer, not a co-worker. Haley is a cockbag for doing that. Haley is the one being unprofessional. He should have just ignored it like he would tell his players to do...

I like how fast people can forget what happened just a year ago. No one should have expected a quick turnaround when you completely change everything.

People (at least rational ones) weren't expecting a Miami/Atlanta-like turnaround.

They did, however, expect this team to get better as the season went on, and to see some progress made over last year.

It really wouldn't have taken that much to meet or exceed these expectations, and they still failed miserably.

We've basically spent an entire season to learn two things.

One, Charles is starter material. Granted, we can thank LJ for that, not the coaching staff - but we found out nonetheless.

And second, we found out that the new regime can bring in 45 new players, and replace exactly half of the starting 22 with their handpicked players, and only win one more game than last year, while playing an easier schedule.

Herm flipped off the fans numerous times and whitlock was ok with it.

This. The same people that were predicting a 2-14 season during the offseason - and were alright with it - are now flipping their lids. I guess it is human nature to be impatient, but it would be nice if they were at least consistant.

Ummm Lombardi has been with some successful franchises and is respected amongest GM's throughout the league.

I think telling someone they should be fired is the equivalent as telling them to **** off, at least that's how I would feel if someone said it to me. Uncool for the coach to do, sure, but really, what is the response anyone would give other than just walking away (which is what I would do)?

We allowed 351 yards rushing, 286 to one player. A new franchise record was set for Cleveland that was set in the 1960's.

We gave up 41 points to a team that had scored 158 in the previous 13 games - 29 points over their average.

We gave up TWO kick return TD's over 100 yards, and over 300 yards in total return yardage.

All to a team that was 2-11, on our home field.

Yeah, that's not humiliating.
