Actually I believe in their mission statement says something about setting a good example for youth....having a body mass index under 93, etc.

Wild speculation part 2: Brian Schottenheimer who was a QB there under Spurrier to learn how to coach and went right into coaching.

Stoops would not be a totat suprise.

That's kinda why I said it... that, and the fact that he doesn't seem to eliminate his name from consideration whenever there's a coaching vacancy at a big school (i.e. Notre Dame this year)

I'd take Schottemheimer out of that equation.

He interviewed very last year for head coaching positions and I don't think there's any way he goes to college, especially given he's spent his entire coaching career in the NFL.

there you go spoiling shit again.:)

I agree Brian has the mind for the NFL and would need excellent recruiters to suceed and that it would be a longshot. But his name being mentioned would make sense w/the spurrier connection.

I agree on the unlikelyhood though.

When Brian Schottemheimer was in the running for the Jets HC gig last year, he had his staff put together (as all good interviewees do), it included a friend.

I think the only way Schottenheimer goes to the college ranks would be if he had absolutely no shot at an NFL HC gig, which at this point in time, certainly is not the case.

I know he was having a hard time coming back to the NYJ's but Ryan had just been through that w/Harbaugh getting the job Ryan wanted and they worked it out between the 2. Never knew it was that close though.

I have read on footballscoop.com that MTS LB coach Manny Diaz is a hot name for either a DC gig or more money as a LB coach at bigger schools because of his ability to recruit Miami. I remember that name from Erik Walden and being so irate when he was released last year.

It's a damn shame that Walden was released last year because he would have been a much better fit in the current 3-4 and may have had a chance to make some plays.

I've read he gets $30mil in annuities. That's at least 5 years of salary at UF. Why move an lose that PLUS his other compensation to make a slightly upward move?

Not gonna happen.

If he ever leaves IMHO it's to the NFL, and only if he wants the challenge.

I still hoped at the end of this past camp he would get let go from Miami because he was lower on the depth chart. Their smarter than that though. Those 10 games or so he played special teams he was a beast though. We just had to sign Curtis Gatewood of the skins ps to take his place though.:cuss:

Why would Patterson go to K-State? He makes the same amount as Snyder, and he's at a much more successful program. If he wants to leave, it will be somewhere better than there.

I don't "know" it. It just never made any sense. It was like Harbaugh going to KU or the Penguins coming to KC. I don't think it's a coincidence that they all got sweetened deals with their current gigs once the rumors started floating.

It would seem that the Big 12 is a better confrence than the one TCU plays in. Like William said he's from Kansas and if he won at K-state he'd be a hero. Nobody cares about TCU football they don't even sell out games.
