What is your rep average?

I figured with all the talk about rep that this place needed another rep thread.

I wondered who on the planet has the highest average of rep points per post.

total rep points/posts=rep average

Mine's 148 rep points per post.

whats yours?

stumppy 01-03-2010 12:56 AM

well, mines 149.

DaFace 01-03-2010 12:57 AM

That's going to be a very flawed stat. Until the Planet's software was upgraded in February 2008, everyone was capped at something like 37,737 points, so a lot of the old-timers should be much higher than they currently are.

There's that, and the fact that some of the old timers' posts pre-date the rep system.

Oh and there's also the fact that rep powers are much higher now without the 32K cap, I remember early on getting a rep from Rain Man that was worth 1,000 points, that was like winning the friggin' rep lottery. Now there's n00bs with rep power of over 1k.

badgirl 01-03-2010 01:35 AM

Yeah it took forever for your rep power to increase with that cap, mine has grown exponentially since the software upgrade.

Buck 01-03-2010 01:46 AM

Who wants to neg rep BossChief with me?

CrazyPhuD 01-03-2010 01:48 AM

I'm at 167 but to be fair I got boosted by Kyle for my donation to CP.

Jack 01-03-2010 09:49 AM

Alright, I have heard a lot about "rep". Negative and positive and their definition is fairly obvious.

Have no idea what my "rep" is and for the most part do not care.

So someone please tell me the why and what of "rep". Is it like green stamps?

While my curiosity is piqued what is meant by the green shaded squares below the post count?

Pardon my ignorance in this matter but to some, rep seems very important. Having a hip flask full of cognac keeping warm under your clothes when fishing in winter is important. Important to me but probably equally unimportant to others. I reckon this is how I see "rep".

Please don't negrep (is that a word?) me if you don't like/agree with me. It may ruin my day.

Why does this thread feel like BossChief staring over the urinal divider to compare weenies? Odd.

Dante84 01-03-2010 10:49 AM

I have 109 reps for 138,382 points on 1,366 posts during my one year tenure on CP.

Typically, the higher your rep...as in reputation, the better the poster you are; or you post a shitload.

If you have a lot of rep points it's either because people like you and you bring good takes/teh funny to the board or because you post like 30 posts a day so you're bound to receive positive rep.

That red +/- box next to the Edit/Quote options at the bottom of each post is how you give reputation, so if somebody likes or dislikes what you have to say, they'll rep you accordingly.

My number is 57ish.

Actually it was 32,767 and the same for negative rep. I was there for a year or so. It's the maximum full word range for an integer.

Baby Lee 01-03-2010 11:44 AM

17, how humbling.

doomy3 01-03-2010 11:45 AM
