Draft Position-If The Chiefs Win
They could end up 5th at worst? Right?

I wish I could answer your question, but I cant.
I just want them to win. Put a nail in the Bronco's coffin, and leave the season on a positive note. |

I'm sick of draft position being a serious topic as early as week four. screw it, bury the bronkeys.
|
Mainly want a win so I can look across the bar at the donkey fans that sit across from me and give them the same smug look they gave me after the last chiefs/donks game. Smokers of the pole that they are in their Elway jerseys! :cuss:

I dont care if it costs us a slot or two, beating Denver in Denver would trump everything. FFS they embarrased us at Arrowhead!!! If Berry is gone, there are still options. It doesnt make it the end of the world. Maybe that keys us being able to trade down and add more picks. Maybe that is what ultimately turns this mutha around. I never want us to lose to Denver. never. |

This is just about the ultimate in losing-fan-conundrum...ness.
On the one hand, you really wanna just destroy them because they're donkeys and a world with their pride in shambles is simply a better place. But on the other hand, this will be our 3rd consecutive year drafting in the top 5. The theory is, of course, that the talent taken there will eventually raise the franchise like a proud phoenix from the ash. The reality for us is the current 53-man roster and the burst into flight is more accurately a slow and arduous "process". Anyone not sitting on their head knows that FA will play a role as well, but I'm thinking a couple spots makes a difference this year...so what's the difference between 3rd and 5th you ask... Well, put it this way. We all know about Berry, but if by some sway of fate Ndomukong Suh were there at the 3rd pick, we'll be kicking ourselves for being prideful. |
Yeah, I say we dominate till the end and then throw the game. We don't want the win and Denver will be 1 and done even if they make it.
|
I don't give a rat's ass about draft position since I have every confidence that Pioli and company will **** it up anyway.
|
I read yesterday we could end up as high as #2 and as low as #6.
My preference would be to beat the Donkeys and end their season with a wide brown skidmark in their shorts. |

If we lose we'll almost certainly have the third pick. The only way to get the 2nd is for Detroit to win and then a bunch of other games go just so. If we win we could get picks 3, 4, 5. or 6. depending on how Tampa, Cleveland, and Washington do. If all three win, we'd get the third. If Tampa or Washington lose, it bumps us back a slot. Of Cleveland loses there is an 80% chance we get bumped back a slot, depending on the outcome of other games. Readers of the board will know exactly where we are drafting before anyone else. |
Oh, FFS people! We've been drafting high enough for the last couple of years! Root for your Chiefs to beat the Donkeys! We'll still get a high draft pick that everyone will label a bust after 2 weeks in training camp anyway!
Beat the Donkeys! That it all... |

Beat the Donkeys, fugg the draft for now!JFC!

I secretly rooted for them to drop games last year for a higher draft choice....Only to find out that no team in the NFL wants to trade in to the Top 3 or 4 draft spots, making it EXTREMELY hard to move down.
We could have picked Tyson Jackson at 8 or 9 last year...maybe even later. But, nobody wanted to move into a spot that high. Beat the Donks and let the draft spot fall where it may. Posted via Mobile Device |

I've grown a bit tired of rooting for draft position at the end of every season. I'll take the win today and let the draft slots fall where they may. |
I think we're pretty much all on the same page, here.
The only fist pump we want to see is the one that the ghost of barrel man will administer to McDaniels in the training room. |

I share the view that a win is good and, at worst, we fall 3 slots, so maybe it won't be bad to have a win for pride. Still, there is something to be said for a loss in that it may humble Pioli and Haley more. There is only so much that they can blame on the players, Herm/Carl, and sun flares. If they will exhibit humility going in to season 2, regardless, then a win would be nice.
Remember the meaningless game against Mangini's Jets a couple of years ago. Herm tied it and I was rooting for a loss in that 4-12 season, for a draft pick. Sure enough we lost and, as a result, we got Dorsey at #5 and the Jets were forced to take Gholston at #6 (who was a Major bust). Had we won that meaningless game, who would have remembered? We would have picked 6th or 7th that year and may well have drafted Gholston. So, moving up one or two could be big. Though I agree that no one really wants to trade up to #3, if Claussen is available at #3 and we pick before the Browns and Washington (who may covet him) it is possible that we could get an extra pick from the Redskins to move up from #6 to take him in front of Cleveland. So, cheer on the Chiefs, but save those good luck charms for when we really need it. |

A win over the Donks and knocking them out of a playoff spot is worth much more to me that 2 draft slots. |
A cheery note: it is possible for us to win today, only get the 6th pick in the draft and for Denver to still make the playoffs.

he needs no help in that department |

I would like to be gracious, compliment our Denver adversaries on their success in a rebuilding year, and kick the Bronco's in the crotch with a steel-toed boot, then offer them buttered scones and tea.
Then kick them in the crotch again. |

I hope we beat the crap out of Denver. I also hope Tampa, Washington & Cleveland win.

there are always good players available
drafting skill matters more than draft position, especially if you aren't drafting a QB..... and yeah, i'm tired of playing for draft position too... |
If the chiefs win and someone moves ahead of the chiefs and takes okung I wouldn't be all that upset. I am not saying he is a bad player I just want someone ahead of us to take him so we don't.
