***Official Denver's Playoff Chances Thread***
It keeps coming up in various threads, so here's one place to talk about it. To make it in, Denver needs one of the following:
1. Denver win + Jets loss or tie + Baltimore loss or tie OR 3. Denver win + Jets loss or tie + Houston win OR 5. Denver win + Baltimore loss or tie + Houston win OR 7. Pittsburgh loss + Baltimore loss + Houston loss + Jets loss OR 8. Pittsburgh loss + Baltimore loss + Jacksonville loss or tie + Jets loss OR 9. Pittsburgh loss + Houston loss + Jacksonville loss or tie + Jets loss OR Things that have already happened are in bold. Lines that can't happen are crossed out. Current summary: If either Baltimore or the Jets lose and Denver wins, Denver's in. If both win, Denver's out. |
6-9 will be crossed out momentarily.
As will 2 and 4. |
cross 6-10 off
|
Jets or Ravens loss gets them in, but they have to win...
|
That will be a shame if they don't make it in with having 10 different scenarios putting them in.Ok,no it wont. Bwaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa!
|
So Denver can still get in even if they lose today?

Because even if the Jets and Ravens lose, if the Donks lose, Houston and Pittsburgh get in, IIRC. |
steelers have this one sewn up.

thigpick seals it

Thigpen is so much better than Cassel
|
pitt wins
|
Thigpen picked, you can cross off anything involving a Steelers loss.
|
Well, that became pretty easy pretty quickly. If either Baltimore or the Jets lose, Denver's in. If both win, Denver's out.
|
Houston winning might put me in a situation to cheer for the Jets.
|
Go Jets and Ravens.

According to your thread starter, Denver can lose and still make it. Is that true?
All the scenarios say Denver Win + (other stuff) |
Things are looking up for the Donks right now. If they make it to next week it'll be a different story...

Ravens up 7 early.

McGehee just ran it roughly 345 yards for a TD to put the Ravens up 14-3

AFC playoff update: Jaguars, Dolphins eliminated
Posted: January 3rd, 2010 | NFL.com Staff | Tags: AFC playoff scenarios, Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers Certainly, several scenarios still exist in the AFC playoff picture, even though the Ravens and Jets control their own playoff destiny. With Week 17’s early games in the books, those remaining possibilities for the other teams waiting on their fate has become somewhat more clear. Here’s a look at where things currently stand: The Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets can still clinch playoff spots with wins. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins have been eliminated, reducing the number of teams fighting for the two wild-card seeds from seven to five. The Broncos would need to defeat the Chiefs, and then have either the Jets OR Ravens lose. The Texans, who defeated the Patriots 34-27, need two of the following three teams to lose: Jets, Ravens and Broncos. After a 30-24 win in Miami, the Steelers can clinch a playoff spot with losses by the Jets, Ravens AND Broncos. |
Raiders are hanging tough with the Ravens, and Chiefs are doing the same with the Broncos.
I think it would be hilarious if Oakland pulls off the upset of Baltimore, paving the way for Denver to make the playoffs if they can only beat KC, and Denver loses. LMAO That would be perfect. |
6 and 0. Now they blow!
