Here Here!

There are a lot of great backs in the league, guys who can bust off 20, 30, 40yard runs seemingly at will... but its a small handful indeed who can take it home from anywhere on the field, 70, 80, 99 yards.

We have been blessed, perhaps the Gods really have heard our cries & now look to soothe the souls of their tormented children.

CaliforniaChief 01-04-2010 09:43 AM

Paging KCBroncoHater. How do Charles' numbers stack up against Lghey now?

No, that was Jan 2nd 2000. It was exactly 10 days before the Raiders did what they did yesterday.

Man. Berry and Charles going down with ACLs still bums me out so bad I can hardly take it. I pray they both return to full form. The football God's are just not fair to the Chiefs, and their fans.

Simplicity 01-20-2012 10:47 PM

Charles has forgiven us as we have forgiven him for slipping on the chain gain ball marker.

It would be nice to hear how the rehab is going, he's been a non-entity since the injury.

Dear. Lord. pleeease return this man to us at atleast 90% of his old glory.

FWIW

ESPN's Bill Williamson from yesterday:

Quote:

Brian Diercksen from Norton Ma. wants an update on the Chiefs’ key injured players.

BW: Everyone is on target to be fine for the start of camp. Safety Eric Berry, running back Jamaal Charles and tight end Tony Moeaki all blew out their knees in September. Quarterback Matt Cassel broke his hand in November. But all are doing great, and there are no complications expected.

I miss watching Jamaal and Berry. BOTH of my favorite players in the NFL just had to tear an ACL this year...Just not fair. On another note, we are the best team in the West when healthy. Not that it means anything.

TebKnow1524 should be sad as a Chiefs fan that Denver picked up a cheap AFC West title due to those 2 being out :cuss:

@NFLfootballinfo: With 233 rushing & 55 receiving yards, Jamaal Charles joined Jim Brown as only players ever w/ 225 rushing & 50 receiving in same game

He also had more yards then the entire Saints team.

Thats reeeally cool, noice.

Houston was a man, Succop set records... but without that one run, we go down in nauseating defeat, no doubt about it... this game was a one man show.

Jamaal Charles really enjoys running. I enjoy watching him run.

Hammock Parties 09-24-2012 11:31 AM

We're witnessing greatness.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...refs/#comments

Quote:

If Charles keeps running at his career 6.0 yards-per-carry average and gets 196 more rushing attempts, he’ll break Brown’s record for the highest yards-per-carry average of any running back in NFL history with at least 750 carries.

For half a century, Brown has been the gold standard for NFL running backs. It’s amazing that Charles is putting himself in Brown’s company.

Start brushing up on your pass catching and route running Jamaal.

Big Red is about to teach you some new tricks...

Pasta Little Brioni 01-03-2013 06:20 PM

I shudder to think what he'll do with a QB and playcaller that can stretch the field and keep defenses honest.

gta0012 01-03-2013 06:44 PM

Can't wait to have him on my fantasy team lol

Pasta Little Brioni 01-03-2013 06:46 PM

Heh, it's funny how he can average 6 YPC against 8 man fronts and the defense keying on him while Slowshon Moreno can't even average 4 against 6 DB's with safeties 20 yards off the ball.

I feel like whenever the national media discuss the great back in the game today, Jamaal Charles is an after thought, if his name even comes up at all.

That is not a complaint, rather just an observation.

But the point here is that I have this feeling that this potseason will be the stage that Jamaal really has everyone stand up and take notice.

Most fans that followed the game have noticed him quite awhile ago. The National Media are still stuck too far up AP's butt to notice any other good RBs.
