Who do You Give the Game Ball to?

Johnson had a helluva game but of course Charles was otherworldly yesterday.

I would have to go with Johnson though. He made those plays at the best possible time and I'm not sure we would have won that game if he didn't.

Then Again, I think I'll go with Charles. I really doubt we would have won that game without him. Any other running back, *Cough LJ Cough* would have never been able to rack up those yards like he did yesterday. The guy is nails. I hope he plays for us for many years.

However, Johnson didn't only pick off two Ab-Orton passes, he returned them for 6.
BUT, Charles did set a new Chiefs Record... (Something I could get used to).

Well, it's kind of a tough call. I think I'll go with Jamal Johnson...

Charles gave his game ball to the O-Line. Classy.

Probably charles, he did set the franchise record for yards....but then johnson did tie the record for pick sixes.....

Dammit.

After thinking about it, I disagree with you gonzo, the game ball should go to derrick charles.

I went with Johnson, he took the wind out of Ab Orton's sails that helped them feel defeated. Very tough choice based on what Charles did though.

He told haley that he looks like the kid from MAD magazine...

That's all it took.

I'll vote for DJ. He proved that Captain Neckbeard is NOT a Pro-Bowler.

DumbHillbillies 01-04-2010 11:25 AM

I voted for charles over johnson because he impacted the game slightly more than johnson but it's close.

Simply Red 01-04-2010 11:28 AM

I voted DJ, but, It's a tough one, I'd say with the record being broke, it may have to go to JC, though. good question.

LaChapelle 01-04-2010 11:34 AM

I'd mail one to Josh McDaniels
but I'm feeling real pricky today

He did? I hadn't heard that, that is classy for sure.

Red Brooklyn 01-04-2010 11:45 AM

Both guys deserve it. I say line 'em both up against each other. If DJ can tackle JC before he hits the end zone (best 2 out of 3) he gets the game ball. Otherwise it's Charles In Charge.

Derrick Johnson

At the times of Johnson's pick-sixes, the scores were 20-17 and 30-24 respectively. Those INTs for TDs kept the Chiefs at arms reach over the Donks, preventing them from sneaking out a lead that would have made the end of the game much closer. That's definitely not trying to take away from Charles' awesome effort, but DJ's plays were more along the way of being "gamechangers"....which I believe is what you "should" give the "game ball" out for.

'Hamas' Jenkins 01-04-2010 11:48 AM

Two game balls.

That's what it said in the KC Star this AM.

True, however, when a back goes over 200, it is also a game changer, in how it affects the other team. KC has seen that happen to them enough, haven't they? Watching the game, I stopped wondering if Charles would get yards and good runs and began to wonder how many of each. It seemed Denver's defense was wondering the same thing. Isn't it nice, though, to be able to have a legitimate debate over who should be the MVP of the game?

Yep. Split it in half if you have to.

I thought I've seen footage in the past of someone (Vermeil?) giving out like five game balls for one game...

I go with DJ cause there's a lot better chance Charles will get more than DJ.
