2010 CP Mock info thread
 

Guys,

Welcome back. The 2010 CP Mock will keep the same format as last year. We'll have a great group of 16 dedicated owners who will be responsible for drafting for TWO teams each. This should speed up the process and eliminate some of the problems we've had in years past. - it worked extremely well last year, and I've gotten nothing but positive feedback.

This will be a full 7 round mock, and the anticipated starting date will be Monday, March 8th. This ensures we get done in time for the real draft, and if for some reason we fly through it and finish early, we can always run back through the 1st and/or 2nd round armed with an extra few weeks of knowledge.

I've sent out PM's to all 16 owners from last year, and have already received confirmation from 15. I'm still waiting on DaKCManAP.

If you would like to be considered for a spot should one open up, feel free to declare in this thread. A vote will be taken among current owners to determine who gets the open spots, should any exist. Feel free to make suggestions on possible new owners as well.

I'd like to make assignments by Monday, January 18th. I'm also going to do my best to make sure everyone gets a team they want, or haven't had. Feel free to let me know if there is a specific team you want, and I'll do my best. I think the mock will be even more realistic if owners have at least one team they are interested in. Keep in mind, I'll do my best - no guarantees. Please make any team request by Wednesday, January 13th.


Making the assignments this early gives you the opportunity to do some homework and get an idea of your team's needs before Senior Bowl week (January 25-30) and the Combine. (February 24-March 2)

Any suggestions will be subject to a vote - ideas will be voted upon by the owners PRIOR to the day we begin. Feel free to use this thread as a sounding board for ideas, or shoot me a PM.

We will use the draft order as it stands on the day we begin, including all trades that have taken place up to that date. Once the Mock begins, any trades between NFL teams will be ignored.

Again, any questions, don't hesitate.


EDIT 1/11/2010: Team assignments and rules clarifications.

Compensatory picks will be added again this year PROVIDED they are made public by the time we finish the 3rd round, just like last year.

I'm not 100% sure....but how much time did we have for each pick in last years draft? Was it 12 hours and then 8 hours starting in round 4?

I've given up on Zouk because his last post was in March or April of last year.

I'm using Executive Privilege to give Zouk's spot to DeezNutz.

Any other openings will be voted on by the current owners.

but this thread is an awesome compilation of draft knowledge and rants....i wouldn't have a damn clue about players in rounds 4-7 if it weren't for this thread...

Waning interest is the reason we dropped to 16 owners last year. With 32, there were always people disappearing in the mid rounds, and it ****ed everything up.

So who gets the Chiefs?

I'll go ahead and request the Browns as my top choice and Steelers as my other choice.

There's this 5-technique out of the Keller Institite for the Deaf and Blind that I think is going to have a huge combine, and would be perfect fit for the Right 53.

That's the other thing, I have a list of who's drafted for what team in the past, so there's some consideration there as well.

Hey I'd like a spot in the draft I know I posted in another thread just posting in here for good measure.
