It's YOUR anniversary...

Yes, you Chiefs' fan. From bobgretz.com:

... it was 16 years ago today that the Chiefs won their last game in the playoffs. Think about that for a second … a child born on January 16, 1994 would be of age to have a driver’s license today.

It's not my anniversary buddy. I didn't become a Chiefs fan until 1999.

Well, then you've suffered less than some of us old timers. Or maybe more... since we can actually recall rooting the Chiefs on to a playoff win.

It's a mixed blessing.

Titty Meat 01-16-2010 06:10 PM

I was 8 years old the last time the Chiefs won a playoff game. Wow.

Rain Man 01-16-2010 06:12 PM

Well, yes, but in most states that driver's license would be a limited youth license.

Deberg_1990 01-16-2010 06:13 PM

Didnt we go 20 years between playoff victories in the 70's and 80's?? This franchise is pathetic.. :(

LaChapelle 01-16-2010 06:17 PM

A DL and a ID
WOOT

Pioli Zombie 01-16-2010 06:24 PM

So they have 3 playoff wins in 40 years??? No wonder you people are crazy.

I started at the lowest of the low points, got a taste success and am now back down in the lower bowels of fail again. Yet I am still hanging around. Man:doh!:

I was 4 years old. I hate this franchise sometimes. Hate it so much that I love it....

I was 11 years old when the Chiefs last went to and won the SB.

I'm 51 now.

In that time since watching that SB win, I've seen 3 playoff wins.

3 playoff wins in 40 years, 2 if which came in the same season, and the other against a sorryass Raiders team with Todd Marinovich at QB.

JFC, how pathetic is that?

In your opinion...When was the last time we had a legitimate shot at winning it all?

Of course you couldn't tell.

Hell he was already 85 or 90 when you were born.

TigerPig 01-17-2010 12:02 AM

I remember how the Bills taunted us by doing the tomahawk chop mockingly during the Buffalo game. And then there was that touchdown where there was a whistle in the crowd that threw us off, and Thomas just went in for the TD...

I was fairly young then so I don't remember it all that well.

Bugeater 01-17-2010 12:05 AM

Milkman is only 51? Damn I shudder to think about what a grouchy old bastard he's going to be when he's 61, he's going to be worse than Skip.

I'm a milkman.

I get out bed before when half of you useless bastards are just going to bed.

Of course I'm going to be a grouchy bastard.

Titty Meat 01-17-2010 12:11 AM

What time do you go to work Milkman? And do you actually milk the cows?

I get out of bed at 2:30 am, and no, I don't milk cows.

I deliver milk.

BossChief 01-17-2010 12:33 AM

He delivers milk and kicks ass and hes all out of milk

ForeverChiefs58 01-17-2010 09:11 AM

This brought a tear to my eyes, esp. the part about DT and "just believe".

DJay23 01-17-2010 10:18 AM

Wow, 16 years. Exactly half my life ago.

The moment Marcus had that TD run in Houston late in the 4th quarter, that was the first time, in a 16 year old lifetime of Chiefs fandom, that I felt MY team could actually win a Super Bowl. What an awesome feeling...which was concussed the following week.

Funny thing is the way officials call penalties now, that's a roughing the passer. Not that it would have helped anything.

The fact that a fragile Montana made that deep into the season surprised the hell out me, so losing him to injury in that game wasn't all that devastating to me.
