-- What are some of your favorite 'supposedly healthy' frozen dinners?

I don't buy many of them, but, when I do; they're almost always 'Healthy-Choice.' I like their Meatloaf pretty well. But, since I'm under Silocks' orders, I'm very careful w/ them shits, though - and pretty much don't buy outside of the Healthy-Choice branding, which is owned by Conagra Foods.

How about your favorites, or the best of the worst, according to you?

I'm not a big fan of frozen dinners at all. But this one is pretty damn good.

I like most of what Smart Ones has to offer. The shrimp marinara and spaghetti with meat sauce are both pretty tasty.

Anyone who doesn't think these are healthy btw, here's some stats.

It weighs about 12 oz. which is as big as any "healthy" frozen dinner. It also has only 300 calories in the entire package and very minimal amounts of fat. Now, you can of course do better on your own making stuffed peppers.

But for something that goes in the microwave for 12 minutes, these are pretty damn good for a quick fix on a classic.

Try them. They're not bad.

Frosty 02-22-2010 12:25 PM

The only food I take out of my freezer is meat though I'm not real fond of freezing it in the first place.

I'm pretty sure that all of Amy's shit is gluten-free, no reason, to speak of, just knew it was a brand and wanted to give the party-people a few visual examples.

Healthy Choice: Tangy BBQ Chicken or the Turkey w/ Cranberries and stuffing.

My personal favorite nukeable?

Morning Star BBQ Riblets. 220 calories, a lot of (soy) protein. Tasty sauce. Just had it w/ some Baked Doritos and a banana.

yeah, I like the Morning Star mock chicken patty - soy. I also have had other Morning Star varieties over at the Four Seasons w/ Cliff Huxtable.

i love the Marie Calendars pot-pies.
But holy hell, they are so not good for you.

Same with Boston Market meals. good, but not 'good' for you at all.

I love the Stouffer's spinach souffle. Delicious. And since it's basically just spinach and egg whites, I imagine it's healthy.

KCFANinNC 02-22-2010 01:07 PM

Trader Joe's BBQ Terakey chicken is all nukable and $5.

VERY good stuff.

Fire Me Boy! 02-22-2010 01:10 PM

Apparently people didn't notice the "healthy" portion of this request....

I'm unable to eat anything called "steamers". For some reason the word "cleveland" comes to mind immediately

Dayze 02-22-2010 01:14 PM

some of the lean michelina's aren't bad.
I think the pizza bites are good and only about 150 cals.

the santa fe rice is good; i think about 180 cals
and swedish meatball/noodles aren't bad either.

The black bean mexican burgers are tasty with a little bit of sour cream and Sriracha.

I wonder if those cafe steamers are from cleveland.

Fire Me Boy! 06-12-2015 11:00 AM

I've been eating these for lunches for the past couple weeks. These do a great job at helping me keep my blood sugar down. Every day this week, a couple hours after lunch and my blood sugar is 100-110.

I think the Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers are about the best. As far as "healthy" frozen dinners go, they're pretty good. The Smart Ones have a couple that are pretty good.

Predarat 06-12-2015 11:06 AM

I'm not sure if they make them anymore but it was Michelina's Lean Gourmet Chinese Vegetables, Chicken and Rice. Mmm good stuff.

loochy 06-12-2015 11:26 AM

My wife really likes smart ones. I, on the other hand, do not care at all for any frozen preprepared meals.

Also, SIMPLY RED COME BACK

I hated those as a kid (bad experience). Had them recently at a party and holy hell they were delicious; I sunk into the corner and defended the bowl of pizza rolls like a mama defending her cubs.
