Sirens going off?
Is there any reason the emergency sirens are going off around KC right now, or did someone's finger slip?

I wonder if this has anything to do with the tornado warning thread directly above?

They scheduled it to today because of stormy weather earlier this week

Doesn't having random drills kind of defeat the purpose of emergency sirens? |

I just now realized that having the monthly test of the system is counter-productive. I've been sitting here for the last few minutes just assuming it was a monthly test. It took me reading this thread to realize that it is, in fact, not the first Wednesday of the month.

Wonder if it was a state-wide test.
Ours went off here in STL, and our weather radio went off as well. |

Yesterdays weather had a potential for strong storms so they postponed them for today.
