All of the Chiefs Draft Picks were leaders on their respective teams
High energy and character guys who commanded respect on their teams.

like tebow?

Outstanding.
When we go right into the crapper, at least we have players to lead us there. |
Eric Hicks must be proud.
|
Were any of them "silverbacks"
or kissers of men on the mouth **** no |
After having LJ, Battle, Warfield and a young Jared Allen I would think we'd welcome that as fans. These guys are leaders and that will make the team better.

well yippy kiyay, mother****er.

You were just born yesterday, right? |
I don't even really hate any of the players, well other than Moaki, but the Chiefs had better options available than the guys they took.

So if they all crash on a ****ing tropical island at least we know they won't go all Lord of the Flies... Raiduhs |

If the Chiefs had worked the draft a bit it's pretty conceivable they could be sitting here right now with...
Eric Berry Sergio Kindle Terrence Cody Dexter McCluster Everson Griffen Someone wanna tell me that's not better than what we have now? |

What makes your OPINION more correct than others? You seem quite full of yourself. |

I'd give them 2 OLB's because you don't pass on pass rushers when you don't have any...
Either way you can flip it out a bit but we still shouldn't have gotten an NT and a OLB out of this. |

are you ****s really content with going into the season with DERRICK JOHNSON, DEMORRIO WILLIAMS, MIKE VRABEL AND TAMBI HALI AS OUR LINEBACKERS? ARE YOU NUTS? I can't even name an NFL team with a 3-4 defense with a shittier linebacker core than that.
there was all this linebacker talent (outside and inside) and I watched the Chiefs pass on it, and the players we passed on are guys that are clearly better or at least have upside than what we currently have at the positions. you cant argue that. |

I don't agree but at least it made me laugh. |

We'll have to see how these guys work out compared to "our" guys. |
I'll take McCluster completely off and change it to Donald Butler or Damian Williams and still take it every time.

I'm sure Kindle and Cody will both completely suck seeing as they went to a team that always drafts well.
I'm sorry we took a gadget player with a high 2 when our team has holes in core positions, that's brilliant. |

In other words, this list of yours is stupid as shit. |

Yea Cody got picked by Baltimore, I'm sure he'll such, uh huh.
I hope you enjoy the gadget player and backup midget CB with our 2's. |
Baltimore doesnt strike out in the draft other than QB.

their QB is a lot better than ours... |

First off, McCluster's been nothing other than a playmaker. He's a freaking stud. I think he was probably taken a little high and considering the Chiefs have other needs, I was a little surprised by the selection. But there's no denying that the guy is a playmaker in the mold of Warrick Dunn, Darren Sproles and Wes Welker. If he comes in and contributes like Welker and Dunn, no one will give a shit if someone else was on the board. Secondly, Arenas isn't exactly a midget. He's 5'9, 199 and was a serious playmaker for Alabama. He'll start as the nickel immediately and will likely force Carr to nickel down the road. He's an electrifying returner and Gruden compares him to Ronde Barber, who is barely 5'10 and 184. While I agree that I expected the Chiefs to address the middle of the defense, I'm not at all bummed out that these guys were the selections. The Chiefs needed leaders and playmakers and they got them in the second round. |
Didn't we just draft a CB you know, last year?
It doesn't matter how good Berry is if all he's doing is tackling RB's 8 yards up field. |

I just have the nagging feeling in my gut that we aren't that lucky. :( |

At OLB. And ILB. And NT. And WR2. And SS. Instead, we get a guy who's upside is a slot WR - when there were legit WR's on the board, and another nickle corner, just a year after taking - that's right, a nickle corner. Don't even get me started on trading up for a ****ing TE two goddamn years in a row. Everson Griffen Daryl Washington Koa Misi Sergio Kindle Linval Joseph Sean Lee Terrence Cody Major Wright Chad Jones Donald Butler All guys we passed on at some point in the night. Take any combination of 3 or 4 guys off that list instead of the players we took, and this defense is fixed for the next decade. Instead, we still have the worst front 7 in the league. But we have 2 nickle corners, 3 slot WR's and 4 TE's. Much more important. |
Do we still have a 4th? If we can somehow take Campbell and Olsen and maybe a decent LB, all is not lost.

Uh...I don't see the Chargers, Raiders, or Donx drafting smaller and slower WR's... |
That TE pick was brutal, shocking really.

I really like what we have done in this draft. I'm not going to pout because it didn't go exactly how I wanted it like some people. McCluster is a playmaker, Arenas is a playmaker, Berry is a playmaker and Jon Asamoah is a great pick at RG for our zone blocking scheme. Tony Moeaki will be a wait and see player, but it is nice to actually have a pass catching TE to be part of our offense now.

That's gonna work out great. |

Are we going to be the first team to cut the current NFL Man of the Year?

I like the idea of building a team around character and work ethic. This is necessary for the chemistry of the team. A few bad apples in the locker room can wreak havoc on the chemistry of the entire team. I'm not saying it isn't possible to control one or two egos, but the whole process is much easier with a majority of good character guys and a team-first attitude. I'm not saying that I 100% agree with all of our picks thus far(damn a good run-stuffing NT would have been nice), but I think it is wise to put some consideration into character when looking to upgrade whether it be through free agency or the draft.
