Kolby Smith a Bronco, with Brother Colquitt

Broncos claim Kolby Smith off waivers
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on June 15, 2010 6:17 PM ET
Kolby Smith will travel from one branch of the Belichick tree to another.

The former Kansas City Chief was claimed off waivers by the Broncos, who are looking for running back depth behind Knowshon Moreno, Correll Buckhalter, and J.J. Arrington.

Smith is a powerful back, but didn't flash special ability in three seasons with the Chiefs. The Broncos also waived 2009 preseason hero punter A.J. Trapasso and Boz relative rookie linebacker Korey Bosworth.

Britton Colquitt becomes the clear starting punter with Trapasso out the door.

Tebow will heal him.

This is camp fodder. They'll milk his brains for the Chiefs playbook, he makes a couple bucks, Denver beats the Chiefs twice, every one wins.
BTW - **** Michael Bennett for taking a couple bucks from the Turds to spill the beans on the Charger playbook.

Football aside, I'm talking personally.

*Cue KnowMo posting clips of Kolby running over the Bronco's D*

"If he can get this kind of yardage against the best d-linemen, best linebackers and best secondary in the league; just imagine how bad he's gonna shred the Chiefs in revenge games".

DJ's left nut 06-15-2010 08:20 PM

I hope beyond hope that we get the chance to face the Broncos with Smith playing a major role.

Smith is one of the few RBs in the league that's so mediocre that the Chiefs could actually stop him.

CrazyPhuD 06-15-2010 08:32 PM

Wow the broncos must be in worse shape than we thought if they are stooping to mining the chiefs playbook.....

On December 20, 2009 at Kansas City, Harrison broke Jim Brown's single game rushing record for a Cleveland Brown running back with 286 yards and three touchdowns

God i wish i could forget about that game . . . . . :cuss:

If they're running the same exact offense, what's to "mine"?

The reason he was claimed on waivers is because he's already familiar with the offense.

Hopefully, he left on good terms so that doesn't become an issue. Not sure how much he had soaked in by now, but it could make a difference.

Pablo 06-15-2010 11:08 PM

I feel bad for our punter's family.

I wonder how his father is handling the shame of having a homosexual son.

Who doesn't need one of those. On a side note if Smith wasn't awful I would be dreading this.

What? The guy was on the sidelines for most of last season, just as he was the year before.

If Josh McDaniels needs Kolby Smith to teach him the Erhardt/Perkins offense, Bowlen should just go ahead an fire him now.

Denver doesn't play you guys until week 10 so I don't think Kolby Smith could tell McDaniels something that 9 or 10 weeks of gamefilm wouldn't.

Smith is probably just a camp body.

He'll be lucky to make it through camp. He's injury prone, slow and for the most part, worthless.

Why people even care about his worthless ass is beyond me.

What? I thought you posted a twitter about your punter who kicked a bowling ball into orbit or some shit like that. Why do you need Colquitt?

I never said anything about our punters. I did say that Matt Prater has hit 70 yard FG's in practice but nothing about our punters.

He's definitely a camp body... nothing more, nothing less.

With all our luck, he turns into a *****ing phenom...karma and all that you know...

...I think it's funnier that 2 out of 4 AFC West teams have Colquitts kicking for them...just imagine the trash talking over Sunday dinners...

...ok I got nothing. This means nothing. Sorry about this post...
