Excellent.
So Eric Berry will get a lesson on the "Epic Cheap Shot". I hope Phillip Rivers was watching.....there is a torn ACL on it's way. |
And then Rodney Harrison hit Eric Berry in the side of the knee.
|
I think Jon Asamoah could be the greatest interior lineman in NFL history. So I called Scott Pioli and asked if I could spend some time with him. I'm still on hold./Tim Grunhard
|
Rodney was a dirty player but I'm all for him talking to Berry. Dude knows his stuff.

Harrison certainly sounds optimistic about Berry and his abilities. This is good... very, very good! :D |

well played, sport. |

No Then why are you sweating I've been watching cops |

Love hearing this stuff. Wouldn't it be nice if he does turn out to be the next Reed/Polamolu !!!!!
|
Yeah, well, don't get too much of a hard on, he also said this,
"I think Cassel's a terrific quarterback. I think he's going to be a lot more comfortable this year and he's going to play well but I think next year is really the year that will get them over the hump." http://kansascity.sbnation.com/2010/...son-prediction |

I may in the minority on this but I always liked Harrison as a player. You don't play that position for as long as he did without having some serious skills. Harrison may have taken some cheap shots at times but to me a safety is supposed to be an intimidator in the secondary. This is high praise from someone who I think is one of the best to ever play the position.
|
eric will know ,, late hit .. helmet to helmet .. low blow .. early contact and on field crying ...
|
Quote:
he's not the only one who feels that way.... |
I think he'll be BERRY good.
Hahahahahaha....thank you thank you....please make sure you rep your waiters tonight. |

That's just Rodney being nice. And professional. Knocking Cassel would be a knock on Pioli, since Cassel's HIS guy. Kinda like when you're out at a bar, and you meet a good looking woman. But she's with a real ****ing troll friend. You're nice to the troll, because you want to get in the pants of the hottie. So, to sum up: Rodney: Out at bar Berry: Hottie Cassel: Troll |
Quote:
or are you just assuming again? i mean they DID play in NE together, so maybe rodney ACTUALLY , gasp, thinks he is a good player. |
You can call Harrison whatever you want. But, he's one of the top 5 safties to play the game during the last decade. His reputation for taking cheap shots shadows the fact that he was a damn fine player with ball hawking skills that a very small percentage of guys had. Opposing offenses had to game plan for him and WR's feared going over the middle because they knew Rodney was going to drive straight through them if possible. Unlike Jared Page, Harrison took the right angle and took the opponent off his feet when making a tackle. I'de love Rodney to come to camp and teach Berry some tricks of the trade.

Very rarely do you hear a player talk shit about another player's on field ability. And you can see right through a lot of those comments. It's like when you hear the guy being interviewed and they ask about the upcoming opponent - it doesn't matter if it's the defending world champs or Detroit, they all basically say the same thing. "Yeah, uh, Detroit's got a really good team over there, man. We really respect those guys and we know they are really going to give us a fight." It's bullshit, and everyone knows it. |

Not really contributing a whole lot here, but watching Berry play in college i'd already say he was sort of a dirty player
|
How old is Berry, 7? He calls him a kid every other word.

Man I hope this guy becomes something.

I love Eric but not because Rodney praises him. I don't think that Rodney knows jack shit about players.

yeah but you state your opinion like it's a fact. and like i said rodney played with cassel, he probably knows him pretty well..... |
Quote:

Quote:
the thing is some people take whatever you say as fact and run with it. and i would bet that you put IMO plenty of times, just not this one. but hey its cool. never mind |
Quote:
Got it, and not surprised. |
Quote:
well lets see. "Thats just rodney being nice." doesnt sound like an opinion when stated like that. sounds like you are stating a fact. which doesnt surprise me, you think whatever you think is a fact |

He knows goddamn good and well that I don't personally know Rodney Harrison, therefore, I presented my opinion on the matter. Because that's what this place is for. Presenting and discussing opinions. The problem is when someone like Jason has a preconceived notion in his head when certain people post. He's the shit stirrer, not me. I'm still waiting for him to tell me how, "that's just Rodney being nice" was presented as absolute fact, and not opinion. Notice he didn't bother to respond to my Detroit analogy - because he knows he has no defense for it - it happens all the time. Was that the case here? Can't say for sure. But IN MY OPINION (is that better, do I need to qualify everything I post?) Rodney is doing what most pro athletes do when asked about another player - be respectful, even if it's bullshit. |
I'm pretty sure that everything I post on here is "MY OPINION" unless I state otherwise.

i didnt respond to what you call an analogy but its not a good one.
who does rodney play for again? hes not going against cassel on the field. and hes an ANALYST. why would he lie about how he feels about the guy? and me following yoj around is laughable. when was the last time i even responded to one of your posts? Posted via Mobile Device |
lol, some of you all act like 12 year olds. lol

dane and i get along really well. ask him if you dont believe me. hamas too most of the time. and mecce i poked at a little about usc the other day but other than that i cant remember the last time i responded to a post from him. your opinion is wrong again. Posted via Mobile Device |
Quote:
I'm not talking the objective, "Player X had a bad game" or, "Player X made a poor decision there" type comments. I'm talking about being asked about a player and responding, "that guy sucks" or, "that guy doesn't belong in the league" or, that guy has no future in the NFL." Hell, 99% of current players and ex-players turned analysts won't even make the "Player X had a bad game" type comments. |
This is supposed to be a happy thread about Eric Berry. Lets try to keep it happy. I know, I know, "the honey moon is over".

like i said hamas and dane are two of my favorite people around here. mecca i hadnt responded to in maybe months. again you were wrong. so is what you said about harrison ACTUALLY an opinion? he could prove you wrong right? Posted via Mobile Device |

I'm just sick of people arguing the poster instead of the post, and Sauto is King of doing it. IN MY OPINION. |

Nothing like ignoring the ****ing dictionary. And you might want to check with those people to gather THEIR opinion. If all three of them think I'm full of shit regarding your constant nitpicking and Ms. Cleo imitations, MAYBE then you can start to consider having the grounds to call your opinion fact. Otherwise, yours is just another opinion. Not right, not wrong. And how do you suggest Harrison proving me wrong? Saying it again? You can tell me OJ Simpson didn't behead two people in 1994. A court of law even said he didn't. That doesn't make it fact, and it's my OPINION that he did murder two people. Read the definition of "opinion" until it sinks the **** in. |

That's not my problem. It's theirs. |

i would bet hamas would say the same about me and him. mecca would probably agree with you, but thats because he thinks that if he believes it its true too. and yeah lets just not believe harrison. Posted via Mobile Device |

you know this is fun and all but i have to hit the shower got company on the way. again you are wromg about hamas and dane, ask em if you want. your analogy sucked. harrison could prove your opinion wrong so is it really an opinion by definition? have a good night Posted via Mobile Device |
oh one more
i think its hilarious that you throw out the miss cleo reference about ME in a thread in which you did the EXACT SAME THING towards what harrison said. Posted via Mobile Device |
Quote:
You did, and you came off like an idiot. Then when confronted with a similar scenario - you saying that Whitlock is a ****ing liar regarding the details of his dinner with Pioli - you go full reerun and try to deflect. Typical. Not sure why I'm surprised. Have a good night. |
*uncomfortable silence*
ummm.... so how many sacks do you guys think Berry will have this year. |
we should have drafted oklunker....
|
Ask Trent Green what a good guy Rodney Harrison is.
If we want him to tutor Berry, we might as well bring Jack Tatum in to teach him how to hit guys on crossing patterns. Harrison was a blight on the NFL. Good riddance. http://tinyurl.com/2fsgjku |

Harrision genuinely likes Cassel. He said a year ago that if he was looking for a QB, he would have gone after Cassel. He said he would much rather have Cassel than Brett Favre. This came as he ripped Favre a new asshole, calling him selfish, saying that he blames everyone around him when things go bad, and claiming that other NFL players are sick of him.
He has also called TO a clown. While Michael Crabtree held out last year, Harrision called him the biggest idiot he\'s ever seen. He has been pretty brutal during the NBC games, even saying last year that Tom Brady needed to take his skirt off. He ripped the NFL itself for their overprotective rules. Then the Favre thing I mentioned. He isnt a guy who bullshits. But he also doesnt have a track record to see if his opinion means much of anything. |
