She wasn't a cop. They use convenience store owners for these hostage situations in China. No fear

1. How do you know how long the guy had her hostage? Do you speak Chinese?

2. Better than risking shooting the victim in the ****ing face.

Where he was standing there might not have been a great shot on him. Hard to tell from the vid.

In China, that's called collateral damage. Seriously, that's just something they wouldn't give two shits about.

I wouldn't say that China is that careless about its international image. At least since the last 5 years, they have been trying to pretend to be better. I personally do not think that it was too reckless of her, she probably had a very high chance of hitting him and that's what they are trained to do. I have seen similar videos of hostage situations in Brazil, Mexico and the negotiators did the exact same thing.
