How many will respond with "BBQ" or some variant thereof?

KCUnited 08-01-2010 11:59 AM

Capri Motel, especially if you have kids.

oceans of fun, worlds of fun, schlitterbaun, if you get to go out drinking go to kellys rooftop down at westport, then go to street side records and buy some cds, westport flea market burgers are good, BBQ, blvd beer, Go to a Royals game. Check out good cover bands The Zeros or Stolen Winnabagos. Come get some pizza at Minskeys, fun house pizza, Jerrys bait shop, Callihans, tons of coffee houses, black dog coffee house in lenexa, there is a good one on State line, good coffee house on mission and 83rd. Power and Light is p cool.

If you have kids 10 and under the Deanna Rose farm in Overland Park is WELL WORTH the price of admission. My family was also surprised by how "modern" and interactive the Truman Museum and Library in Independence was. If the Royals are in town, the K is a GREAT place to watch baseball.

I have the smallest apartment known to man. You can come over here I have some Relax wine that is a year old and I have 2 tvs that are 22 inches. So we can play Madden 07 on ps2 and watch shark week

Go to Harrahs or Ameristar. Whatever you do, do not go to the Isle of Capri.

KCUnited 08-01-2010 12:43 PM

You want that fried chicken, pig ear? Niece's, city's best.

DeezNutz 08-01-2010 12:46 PM

There's a good bar at the K and a pretty cool carousel. You can watch some baseball, too, if you get bored.

Demonpenz 08-01-2010 12:50 PM

One of my friends found ken harvey behind the tarp

The fish are biting at Troost Lake...

Mojo Jojo 08-01-2010 01:31 PM

A little more info please? Kids? Spouse? Food? Drinks? etc.....
There are a lot of things to do in KC...it just depends what you are looking for, and what your expectations are.
With kids...Deanna Rose...the Arboretum in OP...Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun
With wife/Sig. other...Casinos...dinner at Garozzo's...The Phoenix for drinks...the Plaza
With a group of guys...well if you can't find trouble/fun...it's not our problem

First, take the kids to Schitterbahn. Give them each about $200. Come back for them in two or three days.
Next, for light musical entertainment: Bazooka's, Missy B's, or Pure all good suggestions.
For adventure: Independence Ave between 6 and 9 pm. Be lookin' out for Rosie. She's lookin' mighty fine. Don't carry more than $50 cash.
Then to Swope Park from around 10pm to Midnight. Get a great deal on crack and firearms.
1AM: Walk around the Plaza. Hassle tourists. Beat up some high school kid in front of his girlfriend.
Cruise Troost or Prospect from 31st St. South to Bannister. Do this around 2AM. Feel free to shoot at passing motorists.
Breakfast around 4am at Chubby's on Broadway. Make new "friends," but make sure your new "friend" doesn't have a bigger unit than you do.
6am: Jog around Penn Valley Park. Wear speedos. Linger around the Liberty Memorial for awhile.
8am: Community Blood Bank: Drop off a pint, get money for lunch.
11am: Check in to the Capri Motel downtown. Get a "rest stop rate." Pay extra for clean sheets. Nap out for awhile. Keep your new firearm under your pillow.

There! You can thank me later!

KCUnited 08-01-2010 03:25 PM

Lawl, hit Chubby's last Saturday, ordered $7 worth of tenderloin and macaroni bites, ate a quarter of it and dashed on that old bitch. Kansas City!

Let me show you round mah city.

chief mohawk 08-01-2010 05:16 PM
