Jamaal Charles needs more Jack Stack

LMAO

Jack stack, FTMFW.

Had to drive a proposal to KC today - we missed the FedEx deadline last night, and it had to be in town by 2:00.

So I basically drove 4 hours each way to have lunch at Jack Stack. And getting paid .60 a mile was kinda nice too.

Tasty. And I dropped $40 on some carryout, threw it in a cooler and am getting ready to hit it up for the second time today.

Christ, if I lived in KC, I'd eat there 3 times a week, at least.

bevischief 09-23-2010 06:14 PM

Good stuff. Another reason to live in KC.

DeezNutz 09-23-2010 06:15 PM

Except you'd hit OK Joe's and Gate's the other two times, thus limiting your Stack intake to one day.

ROFL

Hammock Parties 09-23-2010 06:17 PM

I had lunch there Sunday before the Chiefs game, and had lunch Monday before I left KC.

Heaven.

Mr. Flopnuts 09-23-2010 06:19 PM

Yeah, Jack Stack is my favorite Q place I've eaten at in KC.

Their baked beans could be its own meal

Rasputin 09-23-2010 06:25 PM

Did your proposal say Jamaal Charles needs more carries, & suggest something about Matt Cassel sucking?

OnTheWarpath15 09-23-2010 06:36 PM

Hmmmm.....Smoked goodness.

One brisket/turkey sandwich, one brisket/pork sandwich and some smoked sausage on the side with hickory pit beans.

I haven't had the sausage from there... Have you had the sausage at Gates? And if so, how does it compare. I liked the Gates version...

Haven't had it from Gates.

I'm not a big fan of Gates, honestly.

Yeah, everyone has their favorite. I usually end up at Gates because that's the wife's favorite. I prefer Oak Joseph myself...

So you're saying you went for Fiorella Jones instead of Oklahoma Jamaal's?

Man, nobody can do anything right.

Sorry, the gameplan called for the FreightHouse.

Trying to control the clock.

I might consider it when I lose the 10 pounds I gained in Missouri.

I need to give them another shot next time I'm in town.

Last time the original was disappointing, if you can believe it.

And the casino location is downright inedible.

I was very pleased with OJ's when I was in town for MNF. First time, and I'll definitely go back.

It's supposedly just cubed brisket. I don't care what it is. It's ****ing delicious.

Anyone ever had a steak at Stack's? I'm itching to try the rest of their menu. I've had the Poor Russ twice and last time I got the BBQ Baked Potato.

Yes sir. And it was the first time that my mouth literally popped when I took a bite. I highly, highly, suggest trying one. It was everything I was expecting from KC BBQ.

Many, many years ago, I got a filet. I recall it being pretty solid.

Now, if you really want to live, and don't mind spending a few bucks, get the Crown Ribs or the Lamb Ribs.

Hammock Parties 09-23-2010 06:53 PM

I'm generally not a big fan of ribs but I bet Jack Stack's makes me reconsider.

I love the mixed plate: Turkey and Brisket, Ribs and Fries.

Some people don't like a heavily rubbed rib, but I do. And I like the firmer, less "super-moist" brisket that they make because it just seems to give the sauce a little more standout.

Yes sir, the casino shit doesn't compare really other than it has the same sauce. AB's is my favorite BBQ in the world. Get a beef n frie to go and walk out with this bundled up butcher papered mess the size of a dead cat. unbeatable IMO.

Simply Red 09-23-2010 09:32 PM

Gates is still the pappy of KC.

CHENZ A! 09-23-2010 09:33 PM

Jack Stack is good shit too though. If I have to attend a potluck and am crunched for time so I can't get my Alton Brown-on, I'll hit up jack stack and buy a lb of cheesey corn bake. Everyone loves that shit.

The meat and fries I love. The sauce? Not so much.

I got excited when you said they ship food. Then I checked the site and $55 is the cheapest you can spend on anything.

that's what a lot of people say, but you can ask the preparer for no sauce, and AB's has like 4 different varieties if you don't like the vinegar based original

Yeah, I did notice on food wars that they had expanded the lineup.

Mr. Kotter 09-23-2010 09:46 PM

Jamal needs more carries, and Cassel (to this point) sucks???

Just sayin.... :hmmm:

Damnt.....I wish my flight didn't have to leave that early the Tuesday after the game. I would've gone to Jack Stacks with Flop and Clay.
