Had to drive a proposal to KC today - we missed the FedEx deadline last night, and it had to be in town by 2:00.

So I basically drove 4 hours each way to have lunch at Jack Stack. And getting paid .60 a mile was kinda nice too.

Tasty. And I dropped $40 on some carryout, threw it in a cooler and am getting ready to hit it up for the second time today.

Christ, if I lived in KC, I'd eat there 3 times a week, at least.

Good stuff. Another reason to live in KC.

Except you'd hit OK Joe's and Gate's the other two times, thus limiting your Stack intake to one day.

I had lunch there Sunday before the Chiefs game, and had lunch Monday before I left KC.

Anyone ever had a steak at Stack's? I'm itching to try the rest of their menu. I've had the Poor Russ twice and last time I got the BBQ Baked Potato.

Yes sir. And it was the first time that my mouth literally popped when I took a bite. I highly, highly, suggest trying one. It was everything I was expecting from KC BBQ.

Many, many years ago, I got a filet. I recall it being pretty solid.

Now, if you really want to live, and don't mind spending a few bucks, get the Crown Ribs or the Lamb Ribs.

I'm generally not a big fan of ribs but I bet Jack Stack's makes me reconsider.

1727 Brooklyn, my friend..less than a month ago was fantastic.

I love the mixed plate: Turkey and Brisket, Ribs and Fries.

Some people don't like a heavily rubbed rib, but I do. And I like the firmer, less "super-moist" brisket that they make because it just seems to give the sauce a little more standout.

Yes sir, the casino shit doesn't compare really other than it has the same sauce. AB's is my favorite BBQ in the world. Get a beef n frie to go and walk out with this bundled up butcher papered mess the size of a dead cat. unbeatable IMO.

Jack Stack is good shit too though. If I have to attend a potluck and am crunched for time so I can't get my Alton Brown-on, I'll hit up jack stack and buy a lb of cheesey corn bake. Everyone loves that shit.

The meat and fries I love. The sauce? Not so much.

I got excited when you said they ship food. Then I checked the site and $55 is the cheapest you can spend on anything.

that's what a lot of people say, but you can ask the preparer for no sauce, and AB's has like 4 different varieties if you don't like the vinegar based original
