If the search feature was on, I'd go back to a post I made where I hoped he'd be fired today because we took care of them.

GLORY!

During the post game press conference, Sing said that Raye was gonna finish the season as OC... then the next day he is fired.

F'ing priceless!

BigMeatballDave 09-27-2010 09:09 AM

They need to shitcan that entire staff.

Wow...that's hilarious.

HotRoute 09-27-2010 09:10 AM

Wow, thats going to set them back.

This from the RotoWorld site:
The 49ers have fired offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye, according to NFL.com's Jason LaCanfora.
Raye gets canned just 18 hours after the dreaded vote of confidence. Something had to change here, as the Niners are 0-3 and rank 31st in the league in points scored. One source told beat writer Matt Maiocco that Chiefs defenders were calling out the 49ers' play correctly before the snap Sunday and Raye called three straight running plays up the middle while trailing 24-3 in the third quarter. This change can only be seen as good news for Michael Crabtree, who can't seem to get on the same page with Alex Smith. Quarterbacks coach Mike Johnson has been promoted.

Another in the long list of people that keep getting coaching jobs that just leaves you scratching your head. At least they figured it out 3 games in.

mlyonsd 09-27-2010 09:22 AM

Hopefully they'll get the offense turned around before they play any more AFC West teams.

Dave Lane 09-27-2010 09:23 AM

Maybe the raiders will pick him up. Oh the sheer joy if they do. :)

It's the least we could do for you. Hey....maybe you'll get a new QB out of the deal too.

Sure-Oz 09-27-2010 09:40 AM

Solari up next?

Kerberos 09-27-2010 10:22 AM

Dude should never have had a job as an OC in the first place. Put him in charge of getting the water out to the table and picking up jock straps after the game seems more fitting of a job for him IMO.

The ironic part of that is the Jimmy Raye likely wasn't calling the 49ers' play correctly.

Munson 09-27-2010 12:05 PM

So what is the running count on how many offenses that Jimmy Raye has destroyed with his horrid playcalling?

MOhillbilly 09-27-2010 12:10 PM

When raye ran the same 3 running plays on the goalline during the saints game the radio announcer (ex-NFL QB) went nuts.

Hug it Out Dan 09-27-2010 12:18 PM

Last season IIRC we got the Redskins OC fired too.

In 2006 we sent Jake Plummer into retirement.

I'd seriously be interested in hearing the behind-the-scenes conversations on how guys like Jimmy Raye and Norv Turner and Greg Robinson get hired. You've got to figure there's some intelligent guy in the room who's going bonkers.

Dumb new GM: Who should we get as offensive coordinator?

Dumb new coach: You know, how about Jimmy Raye? He's got tons of experience.

Smart assistant guy: Jimmy Raye? Are you kidd- uh, has Jimmy Raye ever been successful?

Dumb new GM: Successful? He's been with six teams!

Dumb new coach: He's been around for 30 years. He's coached EVERYWHERE!

Smart assistant guy: But has he ever run a good offense? Where have his offenses ranked statistically?

Dumb new GM: If he couldn't run an offense, he wouldn't have coached for six different teams.

Dumb new coach: Yeah, he's been around forever. Everybody knows who Jimmy Raye is. He'll give us instant credibility, like when the Chargers hired Norv and the Cowboys hired Wade.

Smart assistant guy: But -

Dumb new GM: Raye it is. Let's give him a call.

MOhillbilly 09-27-2010 12:39 PM

They are cheap. Some GMs/HCs think you can polish a turd..see Gunther.

You're quite the geek, aren't ya son?ROFL

You use that, "stay down bitch" quite a bit.

Im guessing it stems from "stay down (in the basement) bitch. You tend to stay down even when others try to lift you up. You're scared of life and the cost of your own mistakes I assume.

Yeah yeah I know, you wish I would die already. I'm workin on it.

BTW, no need in sending death wishes through messaging. You can post it all right here. Its not like people dont have you figured out. Besides, when people get tired enough to boot your ass......nothing a good video wont fix, eh numbnuts?

Have a nice day, chump.
