Muschamp was the best D-cord in football.

Brown's going to feel the heat next year |
Mack Brown has to basically replace his whole staff now...wonder if he just says **** it and retires.

Texas After Brown |
'stab' could mean ****ing anything....unless you hired a coach named Xavier Zimbabwe
|
Kind of ironic that a Bulldog will be coaching the Gators.
|
They should ask Muschamp if he's gonna stay with Texas through the bowl game in his pressers. ROFL
|
Texas fans have some big ****ing egos, saying tht they can get whoever the **** they want from any school in the country to come be their defensive coordinator.

Just because they can does not mean they will. I seem to recall them hiring GRob after Dickie V cut him loose..... |
Mort sent out a tweet that Jimbo Fisher (FL State) owns a beach house with Muschamp in FL.
Wonder how that will work out. |

That's right. Couldn't remember where he was between Tejas and Michigan. |

Never said it would be the end of the milk cows. Just said that just because they can afford the best doesn't mean they will actually hire the best. |
Unpossible. I read that Stoops was taking that job.
|
texas boards talking about him hiring kirby smart as DC...think he has connections to put together a crazy staff...
this seems to be the planet of texas boards...several aids references (Mack Has Bungled This Program...And Then Gave It Face AIDS ) http://www.shaggybevo.com/board/show...Muschamp/page5 |

I will be very interested to see who is hired as OC.
|
Still hearing Holgerson as OC.. that would make me happy.

Also hearing Major Applewhite will be OC.

Sounds like we are going to be getting a damn good staff either way, and giving one more screw to Texas for their 2010. Sounds good to me!

I've always made fun of Major Asswipe, but I guess I will have to stop that if he gets hired. |

Applewhite is great at recruiting Texas too.
|
Muschamp is prone to Pelini style emotional outbursts.

Muschamp's Gators are going to play classic SEC football. Might be a big switch for some of the younger Gators fans going from a offensive-focused team to a defensive-focused one, but the Gators are going to be just fine. |

I was kinda hoping for Harbaugh, but this decision is growing on me. |
What does it say for Applewhite that Texas apparently didn't think enough of him to give him a crack at their currently vacant OC offering? Bringing him along to run Florida's offense is a terrible move.
I like Muschamp, but I think he'll bolt for Texas when Mack Brown leaves. |

Muschamp couldn't devise a defense to stop a Kansas State team that scored 35 against UT before they threw one pass! He made the kid from UCLA look like Earl. Made Iowa State look tremendous. I am not impressed. Florida will not compete at the same level in two years.

As for Muschamp, he has more roots in Florida and the SEC than outside it. |
So.. I want the Kirby Smart rumors to be true, but isn't he already DC in 'Bama and under contract? How do you get him in a lateral move, even if he wants to be in Florida with Muschamp?

Hearing that Muschamp is looking to hire John Papuchis (Nebraska) and/or Bo Davis (Alabama) as part of the defensive staff.
|
I think this is just smoke before Bob Stoops gets hired.
Honestly, kind of a meh hire. No certainty that a good coordinator will become a good head coach. |
Quote:
He wouldn't leave for UGA, his alma mater, who were going to make him the highest paid assistant in the country and give him HC in waiting status....he ain't leaving for Florida. |

I personally didn't really want him at UGA, I think it's more Saban's defense than him...think he just goes along with NS and rides shotgun. Not saying he's a bad DC or whatever but I was weary of UGA making him the highest paid assistant. |

If Muschamp can assemble a coterie of coaches and players that equal the success of Urban Meyer's years, then there will be a similarly-large number of placements. And it will have very little, if anything, to do with it being at Florida vs somewhere else. |

Heh, Vandy is about to announce a better head coaching hire than Florida just did.
Supposedly Gus Malzahn has received an offer from Vandy for their opening and is going to accept it. |
