KC New Year's Eve Party

My wife and I will be attending KC for NYE. Does anyone have a recommendation about a fun location to celebrate the New Year? We have read online about the Hyatt and a few others.

Recommendations are appreciated.

Yeah, I wouldn't probably go to a NYE party at the Hyatt.

Heard O'Dowds at Zona Rosa was gonna have a good setup if you live in North KC with DJ and No Cover which is better than paying $25.00 - 50.00 for a place you might not even enjoy..just a thought.

Heh, that dude took our pic at Union Station on Halloween.

Is the Voodoo lounge thing going to be any good? Our group was looking at going there.

I've always had a lot of fun at Martini Corner. But it gets crowded. All-you-can-drink, though.

I'm going to be in town too on the 31st and would like to avoid the usual house party or ridiculous bar scene.

The Martini Corner one on that list sounds the best, as I really don't want to commit to only one bar.

Anyone know of any non-bar/club parties, where you can sit down to have dinner and then get plastered afterwards?

My house. I'll be in the basement with a good book and a whiskey and coke washing down my chiappino from dinner. No need to go out with all the nutbags, er, I mean nye partiers. Been there, done that.

MOhillbilly 12-15-2010 08:54 AM

enjoy the half hour of automatic weapons fire.

Should be a good time, they are spending a lot of money on it. It's a solid venue for that type of party, as well. The only caution I might have would be if you were in one demographic (suburban) that didnt want to party with another demographic (urban).... should not be an issue on NYE, though. Honestly, its been steadily evening out over the past few months.

Demonpenz 12-15-2010 10:28 AM

There is so much to choose it is hard to narrow it down. Whatever you do be safe and have a great time. I would recommend getting a trolley though and going around downtown plenty of skirts will be out!

I went a couple years ago and it was $100 bucks for all the food and drink you can consume. Good food too.

Sounds good. I've heard others say they had a great time.

How crowded was it? Were you waiting 20 minutes to get a new drink?
