Isn't it bad luck to start a game thread before the game? Or whatever?

As opposed to starting a game thread after the game?

I think it's like re-entry from space. There's a little tiny window of time where it works, and if you miss it you bounce out into space forever.

Jenson71 12-24-2010 04:04 PM

A subscription to the New Yorker. It's the gift that keeps giving the whole year round.

Hammock Parties 12-24-2010 04:04 PM

I exchanged my old laptop for a new one and made $50 on the deal. Best Christmas ever.

In a couple days I'm going to buy this:

Or burn up on reentry.

Yes.

Oh, and a ticket to the Chiefs' upcoming playoff game is a pretty nice gift. Can't forget that.

DBOSHO 12-24-2010 04:07 PM

I got a sweet tv stand for the tv i bought on black friday. Tilts and swivels.

Speaking of, assuming we win out, who would we most likely play? New york?

Good point. It goes both ways.

I wonder which one astronauts fear the most. I bet they're more concerned about burning up on reentry, because they probably have enough ego to think they can figure something out if they're bouncing off into deep space.

Extra Point 12-24-2010 05:10 PM

I don't give a shit what I get. Got Mom 2 tickets to the KU-UMKC game. Hope she decides to let me go with.

JD10367 12-24-2010 05:14 PM

Wife let drop that the mother-in-law got me a single-cup Keurig brewer. I'm stoked. Aside from that, nothing I really want or need, although I'm sure she'll throw some cash our way as well. My wife and I don't get anything for each other because we pretty much just use our money to go on two cruises a year. So our Christmas present will be when we're drinking pina coladas at the end of March on RCCL's Oasis Of The Seas on our way to St. Thomas and St. John... Or St. Maarten... I dunno, some friggin' Saints are involved, so it's all good...

OnTheWarpath15 12-24-2010 05:18 PM

The wife and I decided not to exchange gifts this year.

Then I surprised her with a Burberry watch with diamond markers and a Mother of Pearl face. We got engaged 5 years ago today, so it was good for some waterworks.

I could care less about getting gifts, I don't really need anything.

Oh, don't worry, my friend. You pulled that move, you'll be getting your gifts, later this evening. :thumb:

ROFL Every time my wife ever said anything like "Let's not get each other anything", I always had a backup gift stashed so I didn't feel like an asshole when she inevitably surprised me with something.

My brother got me an Eric Berry jersey when the season started as an early Christmas present. He figured I'd get more use out of it if I got it then and being a similarly logical guy, I agreed. :thumb:

I got a Dallas Texans hoodie from my girlfriend and idk what I got from anyone else yet. I sort of hope Kerry Collins shits the bed for me for Christmas, I will gladly clean it up.

'Hamas' Jenkins 12-24-2010 11:34 PM

I always just ask for money, then I buy the stuff at a better price than those buying me the gifts would ever get.

This year I'm going to upgrade my HTPC, get a Family Upgrade pack of Windows 7, buy a 58* Vokey wedge, and get a HSU STF-2 sub.

I remember once in 1993 I lived in a 12 story apartment building. I lived on the 5th floor. I sat and watched some little fuggers steal my new radar detector out of my car on the 7th story balcony.

When I was a kid we used to go over to my Dad's family on Christmas Eve. One night some pukes broke into our car (parked at church) and stole the Christmas presents we were taking over to their house. Lame.

Nada. Rough year this year. I was offered a ticket to tomorrow's Chiefs game by Bearcat, which was very nice of him. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend.

Honestly though, I've gotten to the point where I don't give a shit about much of anything toy wise. Either I'm getting old, or there's something wrong with me. I don't even play with the toys I have. Except for the wife, of course. :fire:
