If we win next week it will be the Jets or Steelers @ Arrowhead

Jets 82%
Steelers 18%

2112 12-26-2010 03:29 PM

WOO HOO! The Jets going to arrowhead is the best scenario for them!

Reaper16 12-26-2010 03:38 PM

I'm not crazy about the matchup, to the point that if it were a NY home game I'd consider the Jets to be heavy favorites.

Iconic 12-26-2010 03:40 PM

Didn't we beat the Steelers last year in OT

Hammock Parties 12-26-2010 03:40 PM

Sanchez vs Cassel

It was meant to be.

The Bad Guy 12-26-2010 03:41 PM

The Bears threw all over them, and Forte had over 100. The Jets defense is shit.

JD10367 12-26-2010 03:42 PM

The Steelers and Ravens are tied at 11-4. The Jets are one back at 10-5. Don't know how the Jets match up for tiebreakers with Pitt and Baltimore but, clearly, the Steelers can still win their division and put Baltimore into the wildcard.

Of those three opponents, I think the Jets would be the preference for KC. Next would be Pitt, finally Baltimore is the least-desirable IMO.

Out of all the playoff teams, the Chiefs match up best with the Jets.

I agree with that, too.
Well, we can't play them in the first round, but I think the Chiefs match up better with the Colts.

MIAdragon 12-26-2010 03:45 PM

May be time to brave the cold and fly up there!!!

LaChapelle 12-26-2010 03:46 PM

If Tyson Jackson falls on Sanchez and breaks his neck
do the Chiefs win the 2009 draft

If we win next week, we will be the 3 seed and play the 6th seed.

Baltimore will either be the 2nd seed or the 5th. They won't be the 6th.

We could end up in the 4th seed, but it would mean Indy winning out, KC losing next week and SD losing a game. In that case we might get Baltimore.

Jets still in it after their loss today?

Jets defense is over rated. they are good playing with a lead (like the Patriots defense is) but if you keep it close or take a lead they basically suck.

They have absolutely no pass rush. but I like the match up against the Chiefs.

Romeo Crennel knows how to defend Peyton Manning; the game earlier in the season demonstrated that. I like my chances against Peyton & his team full of injured people vs a Crennel scheme. Plus, the Colts are one of the few AFC playoff teams that the Chiefs' finesse O-Line can establish some physicality against.

Old Dog 12-26-2010 03:50 PM

The "if we win" may not matter looking at the Bengals game

It matters for the match up in the playoff game.

FloridaMan88 12-26-2010 03:52 PM

I hate talking about playoff match-ups until the Chiefs officially clinch... but give me the Jets over the Steelers anyday for a potential playoff opponent.

The Jets defense was exposed by an average Bears offense today.

This.

Molitoth 12-26-2010 03:54 PM

I think we can beat both teams, but I'd rather face the Jets.

LaChapelle 12-26-2010 03:54 PM

I agree with the vote for Indy
That's the one I thought got away this season

Why would you want to see the Chiefs play the Colts at Arrowhead in a playoff game anytime soon?

The one? How about the BS in the Houston game, or the other BS in the oakland game. Those are games that got away. Indy beat us because they were better (at the time).

The Bad Guy 12-26-2010 03:56 PM

If SD wins, the Chiefs still have to play for the 3 seed next week. Indy wins today, they have clinched at least the 4.

On the other hand, the Jets offense put up 34 against a good Bears defense today.

Last time Pittsburgh came to KC there was a lllllllllllllot of black and gold in the stands...

Window Licking Whiner 12-26-2010 03:58 PM

I'd actually like to have the Jets @ Arrowhead. I think we can take them.

When we beat them, do we then go to NE? Cause I think if any AFC team can beat NE in Foxboro, it's us (oh hai remember Crennel and Weiss? how u doing?)

There is a lot of black and gold in the stands wherever the Steelers play. They travel better than any team in the league.

Nope, we would go to the 2 seed (again assuming we were the 3rd).

If we lose next week and the Chargers lose today it's still extremely likely that either of those will be the opponent.

The Chiefs last HOME playoff win was against the Steelers.

One thing to think about...

Ain't it great to be discussing playoff scenarios this late in the season???

Because 1.) **** superstition.
2.) no one on this team apart from Wiegmann and Waters were involved in one of those home playoff losses to the Colts, so the mental impact is likely only to be felt by the fanbase.
3.) if you perceive there to be a monkey, then let's get it off the franchise's back.

If the Raders and Banguls win it's locked in Jets @ Chefs

Pioli for president far as I'm concerned. I remember the last 4 years (3 of Herm, and 1 with New Haley), and OH my GOD do I love watching my chiefs again. During the herm years, it was just unbearable (R2P2), but I labored away hoping that one day we'd emerge and own again. It feels awesome to have been #1 in our Division since week 1. Now we just need to close!

In your scenario the odds of the various match ups:

KC - NY = 58%
KC -Balt = 27%
KC - Pitt = 15%

These games are half over if you wait until after these games at least I'm sure it would change more than that. Jets chiefs seems more than 58%

Right now, without any assumptions about any game outcomes, there is a 63% chance of a KC - Jets match ups.

You don't ever **** with superstition :p

Plus I sat through both of those playoff losses and I already bought my playoff tickets so I want no part of seeing the Colts.

Would our playoff game be Saturday the 8th or Sunday the 9th? Or do we know yet?

Old Dog 12-26-2010 04:54 PM

Wouldn't be announced until after week 17.

I made hotel reservations for both nights (and the following two weekends) in October just in case.
