Do you subscribe to any magazines?
For Christmas, I couldn't think of much, so I asked someone for a year subscription to The New Yorker. I also get Foreign Affairs, but I'm probably not going to renew that because I don't have as much time to read that anymore or papers/classes to use the articles for.
Most magazine content is free online, or similar information is, so I think magazine subscriptions are done, but maybe people still prefer the glossy paper feel in their hands and continue the old fashioned way. |

Not so much a subscription as a perk for paying my Knights of Columbus yearly dues is a copy of "Columbia" magazine designed and written for the members

Car Craft, APRA's Global Connection, and Inbound Logistics.
The first, I want. The second, I don't need, but they continue to send. Though I'm not in the auto parts reman business, I appreciate the automotive technical write ups, for learning purposes. I do most of my own automotive work. Don't know why I get the last one; they call, asking me to renew, and I tell them "No thanks," and the dead trees keep coming. Freight handling now has the glorious euphemism: logistics. I have only one definition of fulfillment, not warranting public discussion. |

I clicked the wrong response on your poll jensen, if you're actually keeping some kind of score for something.

We get National Geographic and Smithsonian, both of which I greatly enjoy. My wife gets a couple of fashion magazines as well that I don't look at unless I see some nudity on the cover.

I subscribe to Wired (it cost me $1 for the year), Bon Appetit (which will expire soon, and I won't renew) and Cook's Illustrated (which I will continue to subscribe to until I die; I love that journal).
|
One: Cigar Aficionado.
All the sports, news and politics mags I canceled years ago, since I can get all that stuff on the Internet free and in a more timely manner. My parents subscribe to Cook's Illustrated and Cook's Country, and at the end of the year they ship the issues to me. |
My wife subscribes to a ton. Of those I read:
Outside (outdoor magazine) Dwell (modern architecture) And I carry a subscription to the Oxford American, though "magazine" isn't really a good descriptor of it. I also pick up The Drake (edgy fly fishing magazine) pretty regularly from my local fly shop. |

I used to work in a bookstore and every week and month they'd fill the magazine rack with new magazines. They'd only sell maybe 10% of the copies and the rest we'd rip the cover off, send the cover back for some credit and throw the rest of the magazine in the dumpster. The only magazine we always sold out of was High Times.

My wife gets Smithsonian and Reader's Digest and I get Invention and Technology. I also get hand-me-downs of SCientific American and American Scientist from my dad when he has finished his copies.
I read books before bed (mostly fiction) and the magazines go into the bathroom. |
We have a lot we get -
Smithsonian - a great vanilla blend of travel, science and nature magazines. Nat Geo. - a family favorite. Scientific American - nice variety, interesting topics, broad scope. Readers Digest - love the short humor sections. and various car mags, skateboarding, snowboarding .... |
BeerAdvocate
Poets & Writers And then a gigantic ton of literary journals. |
I started getting Black Enterprise in the mail lately. I have a feeling my friends have pulled a fast one on me. I also had gotten Playboy mags in the mail that my friends had signed me up for through an Evan Williams whiskey promo. So I have a reason to believe my friends signed me up for Black Enterprise.

Only thing I can think of is making a White Enterprise mag. That shouldn't piss anyone off.
