My dearest fellow Planeteers, I need your lovin' support right now. Some of you may recall I lost my father to a stroke in July of 2009. Well, I just found out today that my dearest brother was murdered in his home last night by a *****ing coward!!!!

I've wept like a child for a couple of hours after hearing the news, and even though I'm still in a state of shock, I'm so pissed at the coward who took my brother's life that I just don't know what to do. The news is still fresh in my mind and I'm literally shaking as I write this.

My brother didn't have to die. And since this is a criminal investigation, I'll refrain from providing what information I've heard about what happened. He leaves behind a gorgeous wife and two kids: my lovely niece, a junior in high school, and my nephew, a freshman in college.

The phone calls and texts have been pouring in and it helps. But the point of this message is to let the ones you love the most KNOW each and every day that they mean something to you. I thought this sort of shit only happened to others, but it just happened to me. It's real. And it *****ing hurts! Send your love to everyone. Life is short. Life matters. You guys have been like family to me for these past few years and I love you all. Peace out.

I can only begin to imagine the pain and anger you must be experiencing right now.

Just try to be strong for the the wife and children who will need all the moral support they can get at this tragic time.

I had a good friend get murdered a few years ago & that was a sudden shock to the system. Makes you think about life and your loved ones. Supposively they cought the murderer, he was a cowered too. He killed my friend early morning as he opened the front door to leave his house. What's bad also is my friend was to testify to a crime he had witnessed, but they got him. Supposively the cops got the guy a year later.

He had a golden heart and was turning his life around at the time it happened. Greatly missed.

This is horrible news. I pray for strength for you. I lost my brother many years ago and I still think of him every day. All I can tell you is that the pain eventually subsides, yet the memories remain ... and they can be good memories ... the best memories.

Incredibly sorry for your loss. That's an awful nightmare. I've done similar for my in-laws and we all take it for granted that you're gonna be safe. Good grief.

Dude, I am so very sorry for your loss. I sincerely hope they catch whomever did this, (haven't watched the news vid yet) and they make him suffer terribly. Hang in there man and be strong.

Oh man, I don't know what to say. The outpouring of support from everyone is absolutely amazing.

Right now, I'm just so pissed about the senselessness of it all. I go from being in a state of shock to enduring the insurmountable pain in my heart to just being so mad at the coward/s who did this.

I've lost people to illness, age, and even a car wreck that killed my best friend when I was a kid, but never murder. I can't begin to imagine the anger and rage that must be on top of the grief. Whatever comfort there can be, I pray you find it. I also pray that one day, joy returns to your family.

I know it's awful for you but I can't imagine how your sis-in-law feels. She lost her husband, sister, and her kids daddy. Not that it's a contest but it really puts things in perspective. I'd hate to lose anybody but I really can't imagine losing my wife.

I remember reading through your blog/journal a few years ago and feel like I know you pretty well. If I remember right, your brother accidently cracked you in the jaw with a golf club when you were younger, right? Anyway, you seemed to be pretty close and this has got to hurt bad. I can't even begin to imagine the feelings I would be having.

I don't know what words would even help, but I'll be sure to offer up a prayer for you and your family.

Do they have a suspect? That news report made it sound like the sis-in law had issues with the ex?

I hurt for you friend, the most painful experience in my life was losing a brother. Life just isn't fair sometimes. So sorry for your loss and prayers headed your way.

Cosmic, so sorry to hear it. Without providing details, I have been through a similar ordeal. The hurt never goes away but it does lessen with time. Thoughts and prayers for your brother's wife and kids.
