Troops returning home/suprise returns!
This video is touching to me, having had family serve in the past and currently and many of my good friends serving this video made me tear up a little. I am always appreciative of our troops!

Holy shit! I can only make it thru 3 minutes of that. Hard to watch.

You son of a bitch.

I got dust in my eye like 30 seconds in. I hate you.
|
Oh, you guys are assholes.
Making me cry this early in the morning. Now I can't stop. God Damnit. |
That video just had to start off with the little girl! It was dusty in my office about 20 seconds in for me
|
Nothing so great as to see the looks on the kids faces as the realize mom/dad was finally home.

That one at 5:30 was basically my Mom when I got back from the desert.
|

|

The girl in the beginning, the little girl saying she missed her dad, the mom hugging her two children... powerful stuff.
|
I posted this on my facebook wall once. The first little girl was just a classic moment. You could see every emotion cross her face.
|
I cry like a sniffling 2 year old whenever I which this video. I've now seen it like 3 different times. Great stuff.
|
Nice vid. Thanks for sharing.
|
Coming home from the desert, or any deployment, to my wife and kids was the best feeling ever. And yes, I cried like a baby leaving and coming home.

Its weird how emotions work. How something that makes you so happy you cry, an emotion associated with sadness.
I'm going to Florida next month to pick up my son for the summer. I havent seen him since Christmas. I know I'm gonna sob like a little girl with skinned knees when I see him. |
That first girl and the little girl on Santa's lap are so awesome.

There is a show on Sunday nights that have these and more that my family watches called Coming Home. They set up coming home scenarios for the troop to surprise their love ones on a big scale. Never a dry eye watching these.
http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/coming-home/ Here is a snippet from the first show that is actually football related. <object id="flashObj" width="400" height="348" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,47,0"><param name="movie" value="http://c.brightcove.com/services/viewer/federated_f9?isVid=1&isUI=1" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><param name="flashVars" value="videoId=829749467001&linkBaseURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mylifetime.com%2Fshows%2Fcoming-home%2Fvideo%2Fextras%2Fjj-rutledge&playerID=34284451001&playerKey=AQ~~,AAAAAF4Psdo~,VHRSAKDeoHkslgOFpvEewbCdoNHqT8LI&domain=em bed&dynamicStreaming=true" /><param name="base" value="http://admin.brightcove.com" /><param name="seamlesstabbing" value="false" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="swLiveConnect" value="true" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><embed src="http://c.brightcove.com/services/viewer/federated_f9?isVid=1&isUI=1" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" flashVars="videoId=829749467001&linkBaseURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mylifetime.com%2Fshows%2Fcoming-home%2Fvideo%2Fextras%2Fjj-rutledge&playerID=34284451001&playerKey=AQ~~,AAAAAF4Psdo~,VHRSAKDeoHkslgOFpvEewbCdoNHqT8LI&domain=em bed&dynamicStreaming=true" base="http://admin.brightcove.com" name="flashObj" width="400" height="348" seamlesstabbing="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" swLiveConnect="true" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash"></embed></object> |
I know a lot of you have seen it numerous times, but my friend is being deployed soon, and I just want to keep the troops and what they do for us always in peoples minds.

I'm not even going to try and watch this again. I remember coming home from deployments and the emotions.

Here's a new one....

My son goes off to the Marines in August. This stuff always gets me. I never joined the military, and now that he is going, he'll be the one doing the homecoming.
|
|
I saw that the other day.

And Saul, annoying children? You heartless bastard! |
Came home from deployment in '93. My parents paid to have my fiance flown down to meet the ship unbeknownst to me. Hell of a feeling.
Married 17 years now. Can't imagine how those kids feel, though. |

I watched this with every intention of NOT shedding a tear. I didn't make it very far. My 6 yr old caught me. He said," Are you crying?" I had to fib to him :(
|
Good stuff.
