I'm assuming this is living musicians only since I hear that a lot of dead musicians' estates earn a ton of money. However, I'm not sure. Maybe living musicians outearn dead musicians.

I would have never guessed that U2 and Elton John were in the top 5 at this point. I was surprised at AC/DC too.

Really? U2 is the obvious number 1, particularly considering their latest tour.

So earnings is pretty much worth.

This isn't record sales, just worth as a "product/commodity."

Yes?

Yes?

I would say it's a combination of record sales, concerts, appearances, endorsements, etc.

Buble gets mad pussy bro.

Thig Lyfe 08-04-2011 12:47 AM

Buble's fanbase: horny older women with plenty of money to spend on concert tickets and CDs (that's how old they are; they not only buy music, they buy physical copies of it). That's how he's top 5.

Then they bring their daughters and young work friends backstage and Buble PLOWS EM BRO

yup, if it weren't for women and girls poor tastes many "musicians" would be waiting tables right now and uggs would have never been invented.

BigMeatballDave 08-04-2011 04:15 AM

Buble is a modern day Dean Martin. More or less...

Hip-Hop industry getting owned. I was sad to see Muse on there. They just might be my most hated band right now.

CanadianChief 08-04-2011 07:54 AM

How the hell does Tobey Keith make that much money and who the hell pays to go see Tobey Keith do anything?

No one I know bought one, but thanks for the info.

KCWolfman 08-04-2011 08:33 AM

Rhianna earns more than Chris Brown? She better hope he doesn't hear about this.

KCWolfman 08-04-2011 08:34 AM

The title is incorrect - Musicians implies they actually play instruments. Most of these people would use a guitar to slice cheese.

Artist is a more accurate term.

"Artist" applies to some of them (a snotty opinion, but true). "Performers" or "entertainers" would have accuractely hit the mark for all of them.

alpha_omega 08-04-2011 09:45 AM

That's about 12 million per chord for AC/DC.

Demonpenz 08-04-2011 10:50 AM

Buble reminds me of baseball. It's dated and cheesy, but you give a nod that this is what used to be cool
