Am I the only one who thinks Cowboys Stadium is ugly?
Granted I've never been there... but from the outside its nothing but glass, steel and a roof. Inside it looks like the decks other than field level are 8 miles away from the field. They have a big video board that can get in the way of punts and kickoffs which equals just plain stupid imo. On tv at least it has no personality at all. JerryWorld to me just resembles his team... flashy with no substance.
Anyone been there? Am I wrong? |
Outside is very cool:

Hate to say it but this is one of the best looking stadiums in the league.
Whoever designed that is an architectural genius. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Vv_HvTrDU2...530Resized.jpg |

Always loved this one. Seems like the viewing lines are not good, though. Too flat.

Football stadiums imo just don't have the personality of baseball stadiums imo. Nature of the beast I suppose. I thought Arrowhead was ugly as sin before it was renovated (from the outside mostly... poured concrete... yuck). Now it's poured concrete with some steel and glass. Still ugly but only better because some of the concrete is hidden.

Either us or the Vikings have the worst stadium. Maybe the Rams?

Be aware tho... I'm the Royals/baseball fan here on a football board so my opinions often differ. |

Because there's really nothing surrounding it except a few hotels. |

Havent been inside, but been up close to it. Its humongous, and sort of looks like a spaceship landed in a parking lot. I think it looks pretty cool.

Although I've heard that the NYG is the wine and cheese crowd, so maybe that had something to do with it, they also lost though and were pretty defeated, thinking they should have whipped the Cardinals. I'm sure the crowd plus the fact that their stadium was complete shit didn't really make it a great experience for a couple of random business travelers. At least it was a good game, Eli threw a pick on a game tying or winning drive in the final moments of the game and they lost...ha ha **** you New York. |

Rule of thumb: if you take the logos and colors off a stadium and can't ID the home team, it sucks hard.
Exception to this rule: Oakland Coliseum |

Beer me, have you been to Coors Field?
I loved it. I think even more so than Kauffman. |

But Coors had more of an atmosphere when I went, outside of the stadium. Not to mention it has what I think is a great skyline. |

Icing for us too. I have never in my life experienced anything like the 2007 game, the build up, the game itself, the payoff, the crushing defeat to OU in San Antonio. Which I made the trek too. Travelling long long distances in a car to see that type of game...is not a good experience.
Edit for relevance: The Alamodome is a dome of suck in which to watch a football game. |

Sounds awesome, and the tickets aren't even near impossible to get. Just a bit pricey though, I will have to get on that one. It's an easy one to cross off my list.

excuse my spelling... but D'mari Carroll... I hated facing that guy. He was a stud and I always think we're goin to lose to MU because they get so up for us. The beauty of rivalry.

No I bet.

Domes are lame.
|
But the Metrodome is the worst.
I've gone to a game and sat in a sky box. You access your box from the main concourse. That means drunk fu@ks pound on your door and there is no club level with bars or nice bathrooms. Its horrible and the worse place to watch a game is from a box. |

Back to the topic at hand, the Cowboys stadium is remarkably ugly and awful.
|
After seeing these new stadiums. It makes me realize how fortunate we are to have Arrowhead. I like soldier field also.
|
If we're sticking strictly to football, then I'm a big fan of Quest, Gillette, Heinz and The Link.
Reliant is the best domed stadium I've been in. I hear Ford Field is nice as well. FWIW, I know a couple of guys that travel extensively to NFL and MLB games, and they all say that PNC Park in Pittsburgh is the best stadium in professional sports. |
I like Cowboys stadium well enough. You have to admit that jumbotron or whatever they call it is simply amazing.
I find the technology in this one out of this world. A rolling field? Incredible. http://www.wageronfootball.com/wof_i...iums/cards.jpg The charm of Wrigley is tough to beat. http://elzerstudio.com/Stadiums/Wrigley%20Field.jpg I simply love Camden Yards. Awesome place to see a baseball game. http://www.ballparks.com/baseball/american/oriole70.jpg But give me Arrowhead any day over any of these! http://www.kansascitykc.com/chiefs/a...ity-chiefs.jpg |

Besides ARROWHEAD - my favorite stadium that I've seen in person is the Seahawks Stadium. It's also very high tech. Other cool stadiums I've been to are Soldier Field and Lambeau. Both very cool, especially Soldier Field. My absolute LEAST favorite that I've been to is INVESCO. Every time I look at it, I get dizzy. It looks awkwardly lopsided from every reference point - Again just my opinion. |
I compare it to the mothership in Independence Day. My favorite fact about Cowboys Stadium is that it's literally across the street from a Wal-Mart.
