Will you be willing to chip in if someone offered to stream Chiefs games?
grandllama did us the greatest service last season. He put up some amazing Chiefs games streams. However, he can't this year because

We will try to cover as much as we can of the costs. I would also like to add that we would like it to be only accessible to CP members with special credentials so that it does not hog up the uploader's internet connection. Here's what grandllama had to say about this. Anyone can help with setting it up? Quote:
So, what do you think CP? As for me, I am going to chip in 50 dollars. kysirsoze is putting 20 dollars. Pawnmower, 10 dollars. Munkey, 10 dollars. Loochy 20 dollars. chief1okie not specified yet Blazzin311 10 dollars ElGringo, 20 dollars lurker king, 25 dollars. Can a mod please sticky this and make the poll public? |
DTV is giving the sunday ticket FOR FREE!!!! DO IT
|
I forgot, grandllama also said this,
"If someone has DirectTV I can still provide the streaming." |

I'd chip in 20 bucks. I've got a buddy who's got ST but sometimes it's great just rolling out of bed and watching the game.
|
I messaged him and asked him to take a look at the thread.

I don't care as long as it is in real time and not choppy. Last year grandllama put it in high and low res and both were damn fine. Posted via Mobile Device |
I have DTV / ticket but I will still help out, and throw 10bux minimum on it
|
No. I have to pay for sunday ticket.

So, I'm guessing none of you live by a bar that has the games on Sunday?

Those streams were fun last year. The quality was good and the chat room was fun. Count me in for at least $20.
|
I would be IN on this program. Please contact me with details on when, where, and how much.

As much as I would love to watch the games, I am ok with the listening to the legal radio feed.
Good luck guys. |
I would chip in.

My problem wasn't so much in affording Direct TV as it was in affording my house LOL
Right now I'm pretty much homeless. I can setup the streams again, but somebody will have to feed the streams. Someone in KC with a video capture card and a Windows machine would be perfect and I can show them how to send it to my streaming servers. Of course, somebody with ST and a windows machine with a video capture card would work too... Basically you just upload the stream to my servers and they do all the work. The games cost me about $20 each last year in bandwidth costs. |

Anyone can help out? |
If we are talking about a closed community with good quality I'll chip in $20 to cover the cost of one game.
|
While I think this could be useful, I have to question putting this thread where it is publicly visible. The wrong person sees this, they could pull the whole Chiefsplanet domain. I'd rather not see this cached by Google either. Is there any way we can put this in a members-only subforum or something more private?
|
depends on how they look this Sunday, I'll let you know around 5pm this Sunday. I could easily not care..

Yes I would be willing to help out as llama's streams were excellent last year, but only if this is set up in a more discreet manner.
|
I used to offer my slingbox to folks for football and basketball... Heck even offered it to MU fans on here for basketball...
But we moved out into the country now, I went from a cox 50mb down and 5mb up to 1mb up and down... I dont think my stream will be that good anymore, so it probably wont offering that to folks... I will be willing to try it when the games start, just cant guarantee the quality anymore... |

Well being as NFL Sunday ticket is now on PS3, I will no longer need to stream my Chiefs games this year. However, for the pas 5 or 6 years I've had to find a stream almost every Sunday like many of you....and like many of you last year I was able to enjoy this thanks to grandllama and all of his hard work. So because I understand the predicament that many of you are in, I'd gladly donate $10 to help out all of my CP brethren. I know it's not much, but hey it's something. Just let me know where and how to allocate the funds. ;)

Another problem is with the TV feed, you cannot hear the guy with the raspy voice that says Tooucchhhddooowwwnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Kaaaannnsssaasssssssssssssss Ccciityyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Since I am out of KC now as well I can help out as well and would like to see this go in to a private forum.

I am always willing to chip in on someone covering exclusively the Chiefs, other streams are usually bad and hard to find. I would donate at least 20...and very likely make that donation 2 or 3 times (can only afford 20 in one single month, but would like to give more than once).

Oh...and to the copyright nazis, I will not feel bad for accessing in this format something I have no other way to access. I live in North America, so nfl.com stream is out, but I live in Mexico, so no ST for me either.
|
XME Forums does something similar. In fact, they arelady have several NFL streams available. You might take a gander at their set up or see if they would be willing to host the games. They charge for their streaming services but I can vouch for their quality as this is usually where I pick up the UFC fights.

I'd chip in $25 or so if that would help him out.

I won't say I have not found and watched games myself (including GLs feed last year). My concern is for AustinChief and this website in general. I would hate to lose my on-line home. |

I am still staff at what used to be one of the largest "aaaarrrrggghh matey" sites on the net. In fact, the owner of the site wound up in the Ohio Supreme Court because of our forum. In the end, charges were dropped because our links were not clickable. Dunno if it would work the same in the state where this site is hosted but just passing along the experience. YMMV |

I'm in for $20 if it is secure and reliable.
The Llama was my hero last year, as it was my first time living outside KC. |

Given the recent actions to take down people who do this, It's pretty irresponsible to name names here.

its a pretty big deal nowadays. There was a major article not too long ago about them throwing some kid in prison over making 6000 bucks on a similar thingy. This thread needs deleted asap and a replacement one needs posted that is a bit more discreet. |
I will gladly pay pall $20 next pay day o have his again love the chat and game
(pay day is next weekend just let me know |
This would be a major concern to me:
http://blogs.houstonpress.com/hairba...rts_arrest.php Federal agents today arrested Bryan McCarthy, 32, for running a Web site that illegally livestreamed NFL games, pay-per-view fights and other sporting events. The operator of channelsurfing.net was arrested at his Deer Park home without incident by officers of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). The feds say he had made more than $90,000 in profits from ads sold on the site since December 2005, and that the site had gotten 1.3 million hits since it was seized by the government on February 1. "Today's arrest is another step forward in the ongoing investigation by New York HSI Agents into copyright infringement and theft of intellectual property rights," said James T. Hayes, special agent in charge of HSI in New York. "We will continue to investigate illegal streaming of programming on the Internet in an effort to preserve legitimate and creative business interests and deter others from engaging in online piracy." "Bryan McCarthy allegedly sought to profit by intercepting and then streaming live sporting events, hiding behind the anonymity of the internet to make a quick buck through what is little more than high-tech thievery," said Preet Bhara, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. "This arrest sends a clear message that this office, working with its partners at HSI, will vigorously protect valuable intellectual property rights through arrests and domain name seizures." The feds said McCarthy's site showed "National Football League (NFL), the National Basketball Association (NBA), the National Hockey League (NHL), World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). All of these organizations hold the copyrights to the televised broadcasts of their respective sporting events." He faces five years in prison. |
