I survived the Blackout

Did any of you hear about the SD blackout? That was nuts.

I cannot ****ing believe that the day the NFL comes back, there is no way for me to watch the game.

Sort of pissed, can't wait for Sunday.

CrazyPhuD 09-09-2011 03:21 AM

I thought SD was used to browning out in the fall? Or is that just the chargers?

Fritz88 09-09-2011 03:39 AM

Move to LA.

The Black out was caused by operator error in Arizona near Yuma. The guy screwed up and tripped a 500KV transmission line. This caused San Onofre to shutdown to protect itself. San Onofre dropped about 2000 MW off the grid and that caused a cascading affect for the rest of the plants in the region. It has been a horrible night,

Typical Cali. Just wait until their water cuts off, they are going to have to drink from the ocean.

No heat or AC in that brutal San Diego climate... it's a wonder he has the strength to post.

Merriman did his gay little dance outside the city.

Thank you for that insider look at what happened. It is amazing how one issue cancascade over such a large area. Thanks for your efforts in getting this straightened out!

Buck, was that the longest you have gone without jerking off?

CrazyPhuD 09-09-2011 07:05 AM

When the lights came back on was your ass sore?

It was a long night at work and I just got home. They were predicting it would take over 24 hours to restore. We had all but a few powered back up in around 12.

Its a good thing we are hitting a cooling trend today or power would be tight. San Onofre will be down a couple days.

The Franchise 09-09-2011 09:00 AM

I thought it wasn't supposed to come back on until Saturday?

chasedude 09-09-2011 09:15 AM

What no riots? Oh right that's LA, not San Diego

doomy3 09-09-2011 09:29 AM
