Top 5 college QB prospects
 

Name 'em, and where will they go in the draft?

I'm no expert, but it seems these 5 may be locks for the first round:
1. Luck (duh)
2. Barkley (USC)
3. Jones (Oklahoma)
4. Moore (Boise St.)
5. RG3 (Baylor)

I don't think Moore goes in the first round, but Foles will. Moore is very small.

Foles has looked like poop lately. I don't really want any part of him in the draft.

Robert Griffin III looks very intriguing.

How do people feel about Dan Persa? I know he's going to be a 3rd round and later guy, but he's a very intriguing developmental prospect

Colt McCoy is small. He's doing well in Cleveland.

Moore is extremely accurate.

I like him if we miss out on Luck.

Drew Brees is small, too.

Not sure how Landry Jones would do with just average talent surrounding him.

I thought the same thing about Bradford, though and he had a nice rookie year.

For the Chiefs I either want Luck or RG3 if we're drafting top ten, otherwise wait for the early second and take moore.

Moore has done nothing but win, and he hasn't had the benefits that some of those other guys have had.

I thought Foles looked great at times last year, but has been inconsistent.

So how many QBs go in he 1st next year? 6? 7? Looks like a good year to need one.

I think Moore is a definite sleeper. I know people don't like his height, but according to ESPN, he's listed at 6-1, which is still taller than Brees I think. He's my 2nd choice.

Moore is small and doesn't have the arm.

He has the IQ and accuracy. And not just good enough accuracy. He's pin point. That to me is worth a 3rd rounder.

Well, Moore just climbed up the ladder of prospects in my eyes.

I haven't seen him, but your low opinion of him is all the endorsement for him that I need.

I think RG3's stock will continue to rise, and Jones' will drop.

My only problem with Moore other than his small frame is that he's a lefty. And he looks damn good for a lefty.

He's nothing compared to Andrew Luck though.

Height and arm strength are always the best factors to pick a QB.

While arm strength isn't the #1 priority, it seems like there's often a pendulum effective in discussing the importance of this attribute, and thus it often becomes underrated.

I don't think I'd feel comfortable putting my franchise in the hands of a QB like RG3. He does have talent but worth a top 10 pick in the QB department? If Foles or Barkley are still on the board? I'm not so sure.

Yea your ability to spot talent is so much better: Jarron Giilbert, Jamon Meredith, etc to name a few.

I'm not comparing, but Montana was 6'2 with a relatively weak arm but it's not about arm strength, IMO. The most important fundamentals of QBing are accuracy, decision making, poise, footwork and pocket presence. There are no perfect QBs but arm strength isn't the most important thing. If your coach is smart he's fitting the scheme around the QBs talents; getting the most out of him. It should be a fun offseason (and an even better one if we get the #1 pick).

I agree with you fundamentals are the most important thing but don't you think Moore is part of a good system? I don't see Boise fling it down the field very much.

He doesn't think he has the biggest dick. He just thinks you have the smallest.

He's a leader. He's very poise and cool under pressure. He has, IMO, the most accurate ball in college. Whether or not that's the system will be known in the coming years. He does have to get stronger physically, IMO. Depending on his pro day I'd say 2nd to 3rd rounder because scouts do focus on the sexy stuff (arm strength, height) more than ever. But that's why there are steals. No one is perfect.

Unless it's Andrew Luck :D

lol just from a fan's perspective, I have been watching college football for a long time and IMO I haven't seen a QB like Luck since Peyton "my neck, my back, my neck and my back!!!" Manning.

He would own this town. It would make building a winner so much easier having a QB like that. If Haley were to get fired and we do get the #1 pick, heck there would be coaches calling Pioli to whore themselves for the head coaching job.

Yeah, except I wasn't on the Gilbert bandwagon, and Jamon Meredith is a backup on a pretty good Giants O-Line.

I was, however, a big fan of the idea of drafting Andy Levitre, Eric Wood and Kraig Urbik when they were available, and they, along with Demetrius Bell and Eric Pears are playing about as well as any O-Line in the league right now.

Hell,I may even change my avy and sig in homage to Luck when and if the Chiefs selects him. Man, ChiefsPlanet's servers will crash over the sheer awesomeness that would transpire also.

I just don't think you're right very often.

lol #1 pick attracts a lot of interest. Pioli could get the coach of his choosing easily. If I were Luck I'd want to get picked by KC more than the other contenders for the pick. Charles, Bowe, Baldwin (potential is there, we don't know) Moeaki (if he can stay healthy), awesome fan base, etc. KC is by far the best place for Luck to end up. I don't think we'd contend right away, but a year or two later look out, IMO.

I've already got a bet with my friend that IF we draft Luck we will go 11-5.

Yeah I'm that sure about him. And he doesn't even have to control the games at that point. We'd still be a running team first.

I wonder if the new draft salary will affect how many go in the 1st?

Kellen Moore is only other QB that I've seen in live game action that displayed true clutch play other than Luck in this draft class.

Highlights are nice. I really like Barkley's to be honest. But Lowlights are what needs to be seen.

Andrew Luck will go above the #1 pick. He'll actually rise to the middle of the sixth round of last year's draft.

I dont see more than 4 QB's being drafted in the first round, only 3 being locks. And Moore isn't close to a first round QB. He doesn't have the physical tools people look for in a QB. His stats will probably land him a mid round career backup draft pick.

I saw his highlights on espn. Looked good. Anybody have any thoughts on him?

We already HAVE a very intriguing developmental prospect. If only he would be activated for a game or two.
