Odd question....if you could live anywhere in a Canadian city, which would you pick?
Opening an IT company in Canada.
Diverse opinions on the management team. Some want Toronto, others Calgary, or Vancouver. Montreal? Where would you live? (As long as it had access to direct TV to watch KC Chiefs!) Why? Thanks |
Vancouver has the best weed.
|
I've always heard that Vancouver is awesome, but I can't speak from first hand experience. It's next on my trip list though.

Minneapolis.

Vancouver and become a Seahawks fan after they draft Luck.
|
Vancouver is awesome. It would have to be there or Toronto.
|
Vancouver, Victoria or Montreal.

Calgary seems like its the Kansas City of Canada.
|
I have not been to them all, but I know Vancouver is amazing.
|
Regina, because it's so close to the land of rape and honey.

Calgary and Edmonton are nice in the summer but no way would I want to live there in the winter.
I would have to pick Vancouver because it's the place you're least likely to freeze your ass off. |

Moderate winters and tons of good golf, hiking, boating, mountain biking and fishing in the area. I don't know about the cost of living but it has to be better than somewhere like Vancouver. |
Winnipeg's kind of fun. Then again, I don't mind blisteringly cold weather at all.
|
Been to both Toronto and Vancouver, and I'd go with Vancouver.
Much milder winter and a 2 hour drive to Whistler. |
Montreal is the prettiest and has the best looking strippers in North America... bar none. Plus they have that crazy underground city thing.. so that's kinda cool.
Vancouver is actually a good bet but it's too close to Seattle ... and I ****ing hate everything about Seattle. I would rather live in Tulsa than Seattle. |

I've been to both Montreal and Vancouver and I preferred the former. All visits were in the summer though.

When you listen to oldies stations in Canada its all these songs that kind of SOUND like 60's tunes but you've never heard of them. Its like watching" That Thing You Do!"

Btw, Cassel is only 60% as bad in Canada as he is here. Exchange rate.

Montreal. Pretty city and tons of stuff to do. Gotta learn French, tho.

From my experience, Toronto is the easiest and most like the U.S. |
Vancouver is their LA. Toronto is their NY. Never been to Toronto, but Rush came from there so it has to be awesome. But I fell in love with Vancouver. I'd live there in a heartbeat.
|
Vancouver and Toronto are big metropolitan cities. Montreal not quite so big, and it's more French. Winters in Toronto and Montreal aren't the best. Both Toronto and Montreal put you within striking distance of the big East Coast cities and a giant population base, whereas Vancouver only puts you near Seattle and Portland, so that might affect the decision.
|
Having been to Toronto, Vancouver, and Victoria, I'd pick either the last two for the scenery. Don't have to worry about the weather in Toronto as long as your apartment building and work place are accessable through the underground. One needs never to walk outside to get anything.

No thanks! |
I always hear that Vancouver is amazing, but I was there last year and didn't quite see the appeal. Maybe there are other parts of the city that are better than the part I was in.
I think it'd be cool to live up in a place like the Yukon or Nunavut...for a year. |
Is it just me or is Drummondville the obvious answer?
|
Whistler BC
|
I really liked Toronto after I visited there last February. Pretty cold, but not as bad as I thought it would be. Seemed like it would be a very expensive place to live. I don't think it's any cheaper in Vancouver, but there's more outdoor stuff to do in Vancouver. I'd say it depends on what kind of culture you have in the company.

Edmonton, Calgary, Winnepeg, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw.
Nothing outside of Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan, that's for damn sure. |

I've always found Moose Jaw intriguing on the map. I want to go there some day. |

I hear Montreal is the Auto-Erotica Asphyxiation capital of the world! At least according to AAA Magazine.
|
Vancouver.
Awesome city. Victoria was cool but is too small. |
I haven't been to Canada for a long time, but I really like Ottawa and Toronto. Never been to Vancouver, but I hear its really nice there too.
