NFL.com: Adjusted 1st Round.... who the AFCW shudda picked

2. Denver Broncos Actual pick -- Von Miller
Adjusted pick -- Andy Dalton: There's no doubt that Miller is a good player. He has six sacks, but the Broncos are a quarterback away from being a potential playoff team in that division. Despite being 2-5, Denver has talent and Dalton gives them a better chance to win. He's another rookie QB playing above expectations. Dalton's not flashy, but is smart and steady.

18. San Diego Chargers Actual pick -- Corey Liuget
Adjusted pick -- Phil Taylor: This is a breaking point as far as the talent level dropping a bit. Everybody before this point has Pro Bowl potential off what we've seen so far. The Chargers opt to go for Taylor over Liuget because he could be a nose tackle, which is a bigger priority in the 3-4. Taylor has seven starts and three sacks. He's played above expectations and is more powerful than Liuget.

(Raiders 1st Round pick used for Richard Seymour)

23. Philadelphia Eagles Actual pick -- Danny Watkins
Adjusted pick -- Stefen Wisniewski: Wisniewski's been a big surprise. He has blocked well in both run and pass and is one of the reasons why the Raiders have the second-ranked rushing attack. He's a strong, tough football player and has more experience than Watkins.

26. Kansas City Chiefs Actual pick -- Jonathan Baldwin
Adjusted pick -- Same: He had a breakout game vs. the Chargers. His broken hand slowed him down to start the season. Baldwin's a big guy who runs good routes and has excellent speed for his size (6-foot-4, 228 pounds). He doesn't look that fast until he runs right by you. There's very little difference between Green, Jones and Baldwin.

lol seriously???? I don't see much talent at all on that team.

ChiefsCountry 11-02-2011 07:18 PM

But KnowMo said Von Miller is Derrick Thomas.

As is every single ****ing team in the league

BossChief 11-02-2011 07:47 PM

Cool.

The two guys I wanted with our first rounder were Wisnewski or Baldwin.

Little did I know we would get Baldwin AND Houston with our top pick.

Quesadilla Joe 11-02-2011 07:47 PM

I wouldn't have picked anybody in that draft other than Von Miller knowing what I know now. The dude is a ****ing stud and is the best player Denver has gotten in the first round since John Elway.

?? You know now that being Michael Vick's dog > Tebow, but you still wouldn't pick Dalton?

Bullshit.

It's too bad you never take the glasses off and see reality for what it is.

I think the key phrase here is: 'that division'.

Perhaps another key word is: 'potential'.

Careful, just repeating that thought might be considered neg rep worthy. :shake: I think him even saying this should be a bannable offense. Almost as dumb as when he was calling their receiver Thomas, "DT". Not allowed on this board Know-nothing.

You're not even old enough to really remember John Elway as a player.

Does Tebow know you're breaking up with him?

cabletech94 11-03-2011 11:37 AM

knowmo2724 < tebow

Can't wait to see everyone who questioned the Baldwin eat crow when the season is over. This kid looks like he could post some SERIOUS numbers the rest of the way. Especially with all the mismatches.

He's not DT, but he's en route to a historical season, number wise. He's been very productive.

Von has had more sacks in his first 7 starts than DT did.

Tebow Forever!!!

DJ's left nut 11-03-2011 12:26 PM

Who has Wisniewski surprised?

I think most people knew he was probably the best center prospect in the draft. If you didn't expect him to perform well, you simply weren't paying attention. I know I was getting quietly excited when I saw him slipping down the board and was pretty irritated when I saw the Raiders took him.

He's going to be a very good player for a very long time.

DT had more sacks in one game than Miller has in his entire carreer. Whats your point?

ChiefFripp 11-03-2011 12:29 PM

Too late in the season, I don't even remember who the other options were at that time.

jd1020 11-03-2011 12:30 PM

Denver definitely needs a QB, but wtf? Dalton over Miller? Give me a break.

He has more sacks but overall Aldon Smith has been better.

Smith > Von.

Wow a half a sack LMAO.

Von has nearly twice as many tackles and more forced fumbles than Aldon Smith. Aldon Smith also rushes twice as much as Von gets to.

If he continues to catch 20% of the balls thrown to him he'll have 10-15 catches by the end of the year which would be astounding.

Hard to respect your opinion on draft talent when you stated last week Tebow should have been the #1 overall pick. Von does seem really good so far.

Why so negative? After all it was his first NFL regular season game.He did catch the TD and moved the chains at times.Just seems---.

Its really hard to win on every draft pick. The Broncos got a solid player in Miller, but i think the 49rs got the best pass rusher in the draft.

Demonpenz 11-04-2011 06:36 AM

I don't question baldwins awesomeness, I just worry that we don't get the rock to bowe, or mcluster in space, since cassel is cassel, I can see him locking on to Baldwin the entire game and not looking away because baldwin is the largest person out there.

I don't know of a single person who questioned the pick. I think everyone was pretty stoked that we got a stud WR in the draft.

I questioned it. He was too similar to Bowe.

I had Akeem Ayers in the first and I wanted Torrey Smith. I didn't think he would make it to our second round pick, but he did.

But the Baldwin signing works out pretty good since the Chiefs signed Breaston.

Lots of folks were saying he was getting a 3rd round grade.

Even more folks were patting themselves on the back after Thomas Jones went all Thomas Jones on him in the lockerroom.

Yeah - plenty of people were down on Baldwin. Most of them will likely end up strangely silent about it.

He had 5 catches Monday night. Your math is a bit fuzzy.

There were plenty of doubters.

I didn't know much about him, checked him out and was stoked. After the way the season started I was cncerned.

Not a bit now.

Yeah I don't think that math is quite right. He did drop that ball he jumped for but it seemed more like a miss-timed jump than a hands issue. The INT was a tough one. I remember he almost made a sick catch in preseason. I personally am not worried about his hands at all right now. He has looked good IMO and am very pleased with his start, even without the TD.
