Vick most disliked NFL player according to fan poll

New poll identifies Mike Vick as most disliked NFL player

Posted by Mike Florio on November 8, 2011, 10:58 PM EST

A poll of players has revealed that Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is the dirtiest player in the NFL. A poll of fans has bestowed a slightly less desirable honor on Eagles quarterback Mike Vick.

Per Tom Van Riper of Forbes.com, a new poll from Nielsen and E-Poll Market Research has found that Vick is the most disliked NFL player. Specifically, 60 percent of the respondents identified Vick as a player they “dislike,” “dislike somewhat,” or “dislike a lot.”

Jets receiver Plaxico Burress finished second, with 56 percent. Third on the list was Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, at 49 percent. In fourth place, former Pats defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, with 46 percent.

All four players have had trouble with the law, which surely has done nothing to enhance their standing.

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler (38 percent), Patriots receiver Chad Ochocinco (35 percent), Eagles quarterback Vince Young (32 percent), Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer (31 percent), Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (29 percent), and Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey (29 percent) also made the list.

Must have been east coast fans.
The players all seem to be from a close area

Ray Lewis killed someone but that's ok.

Deberg_1990 11-08-2011 10:13 PM

I hate Matt Cassel far more than any of those dudes.

Man...I have to agree with that list, except that Ray Lewis should be up there.

I tend to dislike Jay Cutler, but it's mostly because of his stupid face.

This one amused me: Bears quarterback Jay Cutler (38 percent)

"I ****ing hate you for having diabetes, you goofy bitch"

Fritz88 11-09-2011 03:50 AM

A rapist is in third place?

EPodolak 11-09-2011 04:03 AM

I'm good with Vick playing without a helmet the rest of the year.

Bugeater 11-09-2011 05:54 AM

I don't like the guy, but it has less to do with dog killing and more to do with the nonstop media coverage and hype over a guy who has accomplished very little.

milkman 11-09-2011 06:19 AM

I don't dislike Mike Vick.

From a distance he really does look like a changed man, and I can respect that.

But I wouldn't want him as my QB, if I had a choice of any QB, because he still hasn't fully grasped the QB position.

Hope that number grows in Chicagoland. Would love to see him wearing red

Gonzo 11-09-2011 07:55 AM

Surprised Harrison from the Steelers didn't make the list.

I'd pick ****ler, Cry me a Rivers, or any bronco, raider, or charger, or Slap A Bitch Already (I really hate him, but he's a Chief soooooo)

Definitely this.

My least favorite is (was?) probably Peyton Manning. A close second is whiny Rivers.

I really don't dislike Peyton Manning.

Fact is, he seems like one of the most likable guys in the NFL to me.

I just don't buy into his hype.
He is simply overrated in my book.

Some others have already mentioned his name, but I think Ray Lewis is, far and away. the player I dislike the most in the NFL.

I don't dislike him as a person. I just get tired of the gyrations at the line (though he's toned that down) and the constant media blitz. The fact that he knocked the Chiefs out of the playoffs multiple times might have something to do with it, too.

I don't know that I dislike any players personally now that TO is out of the league (though Ray Lewis comes close). Stevie Johnson is on my shit list this year, though.

-King- 11-09-2011 11:58 AM

I can't dislike Ray Lewis. Gotta respect his leadership, production and work ethic. He may be over dramatic at times, but it's not annoying enough for me to hate him.

And as for the murder thing....eh. People celebrate superbowl victories different ways. Most people scream and celebrate in joy, Ray shanks people :)

According to this list, if you rape a dog with diabetes and then kill it you will be the most hated man in America.

Your clearly trying to get attention. There is no reason to hate Cassel in that way.

No im saying Vick is hyped because hes black

evenfall 11-09-2011 12:22 PM

I don't hate Vick primarily for the dog killing. I hate him primarily because the media relentlessly pimps him and he is really not very good.

And this is why young qbs suck theses days because they look at this idiot and think thats the way they are supposed to play qb.

What's weird is that when he got out of prison, he seemed like such a better QB than before. Odd.

He may well have me fooled, but I trust my judgement far more than yours, because you are clearly a useless ****ing idiot.

Matt Cassel is better than Jay Cutler?

Holy shit.

How ****ing moronic does one have to be to even entertain that thought?

He is a better QB.

He figured out that he has to learn the mechanics of the position, and to learn to read defenses.

But he is still a work in progress.

He's 30 years old.

History tells us that only about 5 SBs have been won by QBs over the age of 33.

By the time Vick gets it fully, not only will he be close to reaching that age when his athleticism begins to fade, but his window will be damn near to closing.

I think Vick's window is smaller than some QBs' because of the pounding he takes. I don't think he will physically hold up.
