Jones, Griffin, Foles or Tannehill?
Who should the next signal caller for the Chiefs be?
|
Matt Barkley
|
Do whatever you have to do to get Luck, Barkley or RGIII.
|
Not Tannahill
|
No to Jones

We'd have to basically lose out. |

And FWIW, as of now, RGIII is considered a R2 pick - though rising. I don't give a **** what it takes to move as far as we need to. Without a franchise QB, this roster is going to waste. |

Plus, there's a handful of teams currently in front of us that'll finish with more wins IMO. Quote:

Right now, apart form the guys that would be obvious reaches, I would be happy with anyone except Jones.
If we draft Landry Jones, Ill be happy that they at least tried with one of the top "perceived" quarterbacks...but inside I will be disappointed. Id rather trade away the whole entire draft to get Luck or Barkley (even if we already have a top 5 pick) than sit pat and draft Landry Jones. |

Griffin means another year of Cassel for sure. The guy has the tools to be good but he'll be a bit of a project.

Griffin, Jones....see what we have in stanzi. Foles is cassel2 and tannehill just doesn't impress me.

Here's a list of teams with 3 wins or less: Indy, Carolina, Minnesota, STL, Arizona, Jacksonville, Miami and Washington. Indy will absolutely pick ahead of us. Of the remaining teams, Carolina, Minnesota, STL, Arizona and Jacksonville all have high picks at QB or just traded for a guy. Miami is going to win a few more games. That leaves Washington and the 4-6 teams - Cleveland, Philly, San Diego, Seattle and Tampa. Every one of those teams will win a few more games - except for Cleveland. There's going to be an opportunity to trade up. |

... Id also like to add that we might as well stop listing RG3 in these because he has said to some people that he wants to come back to get his masters next year. More reason to go all in for Barkley or Luck. I dont care if we end up with the #2 pick, Id still trade the whole draft for Luck. |

I'd rather **** a rusty snow blower than watch Foles play for the Chiefs.
(This goes for Jones, too) |
No to Jones or Tannehill. Yes to Griffin, Luck or Barkley.
|
It would be classic Chiefs to go 30 years without drafting a QB in the first and then use that pick on Landry Jones.

I'd wait for little brother Rodgers. Sorry.

I hate to say it, but the way these guys LOVE Cassel, they are probably blowing loads left and right scouting Jones.
He is basically a more advanced, even less mobile version of Cassel. He would also allow them to keep Cassel at the helm for another year or two. IMO he is the Blackledge of this class of quarterbacks. |

I wouldn't trade up for RG3...but I would take him even if we are drafting in the top 5 (this is considering that Barkley and Luck are off the board when we pick).

It'd be nice not having to trade up for Barkley. Draftubators get there QB round 1 True Fans get a Left Tackle round 2 we'd all be happy.

I dont think he will be in this draft, but if he is he should be neck and neck with Barkley after his game this past weekend. He really stepped up when his team needed him to and against really good competition. ... Even if he does declare, I wouldnt trade up to select him...Id trade up for Barkley, but I dont think Id trade whole draft for a guy that would be a 1 year (minimum) project in our system. Who knows though, the kid is smart as all beat hell. Maybe he could pick it up faster than I think. At this point, I really dont care...I just want that warm cozy feeling (that I have NEVER had) that our team just might have a real QB somewhere in the mix. |
I'm going to go at this from a realistic stance as to who I think will be the Chiefs next QB...
In no particular order: Stanzi Jones RG3 Tannehill Cousins Foles - Don't want. I was high on the kid at the start of the year, but he's been garbage lately and has thrown 517 passes to match what QB's have done with 350-400 passes Lindley - Don't want, but he fits the mold of a Pioli QB Moore Everyone else on the list I wouldn't have a problem with, given that they are drafted in their respected rounds. |

And yeah, plenty of teams currently in front of us who look good. I'm fairly sure we'll have a really really high pick. And we better ****ing take a QB. |

The Rams switched to a pass offense and Bradford has been complete garbage ever since. What happened to the QB fixes a lot of problems? Bradford was overrated, and apparently still is. |
Quote:
Id love to have Bradford. What if they get the top pick and want to move Bradford? Id surely be one of the first ones on the line asking the cost....but you would surely have to figure in the amount of his contract and that would likely bring the cost down a little. |

The guy got a HAS and that has ****ed with his mechanics and delivery. When healthy, he is one of, if not the most, accurate quarterbacks in the game. Id love to have him. |

Bradford was over 60% as a rookie. Better than Manning. Yeah, I'd take him and forget about QB for 15 years. Better pump up that line though!
|
Bradford played in the most simplistic offense imaginable. He had one of the worst YPA in the league despite having a completion % over 60.

I think the most optimistic homers here could realistically imagine the Chiefs getting to 7 wins. More likely the number is 5. 18 teams already have 5. Any ties are going to hurt as we probably beat any team in strength of schedule. I see these teams finishing worse than the Chiefs:
Indianapolis (obviously) St. Louis Carolina Minnesota Washington (games against Minnesota and Seattle are perhaps winnable) Jacksonville The teams currently behind the Chiefs who should pass them: Miami Arizona Chiefs are currently tied with but should be surpassed by: Cleveland (least positive) San Diego Tampa Bay Philadelphia Seattle The Chiefs should end up somewhere 6-10. Four of those teams have taken a QB in the first in the last two drafts. That should be enough to get RGIII after Indy takes Luck and Washington takes Barkley. Rumor out of Washington is they could be looking for Manning. |
