McAfee Blocking Dangerous Content on ChiefsPlanet?
Is anyone else getting this message?
|
Why are you using McAfee?
That's the question. |

It's just warning you about my awesomeness... Don't worry, I'll set my girl catcher to stun.
|
McAfee is a lot more dangerous than anything on Chiefsplanet.
Delete that shit. |
It's probably blocking a mention of "Avast!"
|
McAfee and Norton are awful.

If it was mine, it would either be on the volleyball thread or Cabellas.com. If it's GoChief's, it would be on the Jengo-Fett fan page and realrubbergirls.com. Posted via Mobile Device |
I remember when this joke was funny like 5 years ago.

No I don't |
I can try to add a little bit of actual information to this. I've been dealing with this on my own site and some client sites.
McAffee, Symantec (Norton), etc. use these stupid 'suspicious site' things just to get web site owners to register with them. The only way to get your site to NOT show up this way is to register your site and all your own personal information with them. Then they run a "test" on your site and will eventually give you the nice green check mark (in theory). I've submitted 2 of my sites (angelleye.com and usbswiper.com) and I've also been dealing with this for many of my clients. I've seen some sites get approved and get the green check mark within a few weeks. Others have been waiting months without any update. They won't give you any information on when it will update, either. They just keep saying it's in que. It's a complete scam on their part, in my opinion, to get website owners to provide their information to these companies. I can't even imagine how many sales I've probably lost because people see it and don't even bother calling. Drives me nuts. Especially when I've followed all their stupid instructions and it just sits in the que for months. As for everybody commenting on McAffee AV and Norton AV sucking...well, they do. They're resource hogs and they just spit BS stuff like this at you all the time. If you're on Windows I'd recommend you just go with Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free and provided directly from the same company that created your OS. I've been using it for years and have never had a problem. It never gets in the way, either, unless there really is a problem. |

Microsoft Security Essentials. Learn it. Use it. Love it.

Hey everybody, should I just ban Tytanium for a week or for a month?

Just because they have a stadium doesn't mean they can protect your computer.
|
I'm not entirely sure what's truth and what's fake, but occasionally pages here will throw a warning if someone's hotlinked an image from a site that has questionable practices. If it happens, provide me with the specific page, and I'll check it out.
|
I use Microsoft Security Essentials as well and can vouch for it. No reason to pay for A/V. In addition to MSE I would also download Malwarebytes.
http://www.malwarebytes.org/ Don't buy it, use the free version. I would run full scans of your PC monthly with both programs or whenever you feel you are being "attacked." |

I always used the free version of avast until they sent an offer for the full version for $9.95.
I jumped on that shit. I also have malwarebytes & SuperAntiSpyware Free edition. Comcast tries to pedal free McAfee but I don't want anything to do with it. |

Honestly, I have no real complaints about McAfee except for when it does an automatic update and stalls out my internet. It's been excellent for keeping viruses at bay, but I found it strange that it's popping up often on CP and I don't recall it happening on any other site. I can send you a link when it happens again. However, as previously mentioned, I didn't begin getting these warnings until I switched from IE to Google Chrome. My guess is it's a security setting issue on my end and there's probably nothing harmful on the site. |

Probably should go with NOD 32 since you're downloading naked dudes on horses. |

I won't claim to know more than several others on here... hardly... but I use avast virus protection and haven't had a virus once in 5 years using it... and spybot search and destroy and run a check once a week. Never any problems.
And stop looking at naked men on horses online and have some respect for your husband. |
