Danny Parkins claiming Todd Haley cancelled team meetings Saturday night to go out.
 

Talking about it now, claims and "unnamed" source within the organization accidentally called him last night and they got to talking. The "source" told him he could take it to the air as long as his name was not involved.

So that's the key to victory. Interesting.

Kind of the way I see it, and that's kind of what Danny is getting at. He also is saying he thinks it was planned to " accidentally" call him to get the story out... if true.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with this girl who saw Todd pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Last time I checked he's the head coach and it's HIS CALL. If he thinks his guys need a break I don't see it as anybody's business and it's certainly not some scandal like you're pretending it to be. Coaches give players time off during the season, every season.

So who gives a shit if it true or not? If he felt the team and himself needed to relax a little bit BFD.

If true, is there any context? Did the earlier team meeting run extra long? Did the coach feel that everyone understood what they were installing for the game? Did the coach feel that players were pressing too much in the last few games and want to get them loose for a critical road game?

Or, as the story seems to imply, Coach said "F*** It! I'm gonna hit the club!"?

I bet if they had that meeting, they would have scored another field goal or something.

Every team does when on the road...they usually have reserved 3 spaces in the hotel...Offense, Defense and team. It is also a way to make sure everyone makes curfew before bed check, and yes NFL teams do that too.

I don't even care if it's true. Coaches add and cancel practices (and meetings) all the time. The only thing that is even a MINOR concern is all of this is the "to go out" part. However, 1) I don't see how that can be anything other than conjecture and 2) if he felt the team (and he) needed a rest, then so be it.

It's not like we're talking about Sabby partying at 3am or anything.

If true, it's problematic. The last thing the Head Coach of a 5-7 football team should be doing is cancelling team meetings for a night on the town. And I'm pretty liberal when it comes to coaches/players leading normal lives off-the-field.
